Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 are the same game? Come on man. Not even close. They are 2 different games and the reason why op can't put his finger on what's wrong is because it's a feeling. Not a tangible thing. Other than random weapon rolls. That is the absolute biggest thing that could make the game feel better. It's all about diversity and finding that secret overpowered something. With Destiny 2 this is a fixed experience. I feel like this is why we tire of it so quickly. Ready made subclasses are another huge issue but they aren't gonna move on that one. Like my 11 year old told me yesterday when I asked him why he no longer plays Destiny. He says, Dad Destiny is broken. When a game is broken its just broken. There's no coming back. I hope bungie can prove an 11 year old wrong.

For those of us who look past all those things and actually enjoyed the story in D1, there's a massive difference between the two, in fact there's multiple massive differences. Story telling quality did get better however the story was rushed and there are a few things wrong with it that go unexplained. Lore was fantastic in D1 but too many people bitched about how it wasn't in the game so Bungie took it out completely and gave us scannable objects that don't give lore, only foreshadowing. The lore on certain weapons and armour seem to paint half the picture they once did in D1 unless you have the book from the D2 collectors edition to make heads or tails of anything. PvP, well just look at D1 and how fast it was compared to now. We could wipe out a team on our own with a super or just pure gun skill, now you get demolished if you're in a 2v1 most of the time because the game devolved into call of duty with the occasional ability. D1 was fun and yes it was hectic at times but you have more people who want it changed back than there are who like the current PvP. "Power" weapons. Hahahaha oh man, best joke yet bungo. And finally, the microtransactions. Look anywhere on these forums for information on D2 microtransactions and as for D1, look no further than the festival of the cost. 2 vastly different games, one of them offering a challenge and rewarding loot for completing these challenges with the ability to choose our armor for looks and choosing our own abilities, and the other game being the complete opposite with a huge lack of customisation because bungie "have a new vision for destiny".
