On the topic of Prometheus Lens and the Crucible pacing discussion. A possible win-win scenario proposed?

Aw yeah. That's a solid wall. The relevant proposal is sectioned off with lines. I've read plenty of posts and comments that fall within a few separate categories regarding the Prometheus Lens. There are those who want it to be fixed. They have merit because the weapon was apparently shipped with a bug that resulted in an unintended lethality. Some wish for the other weapons available in the item roster to have their lethality brought up significantly so as to match Prometheus Lens and bring about a much quicker and deadlier pace to the Crucible scene, with the belief that this would result in a more enjoyable and exciting game-mode. Both sides have merits. Does a 'broken' item get fixed and sent on it's way to not disrupt the scene or does the scene get altered so that it may introduce a different game-play experience that may or may not be preferable to the current one? Whether or not the faster kill-time would be preferable is hardly a debate. It's entirely subjective and purely based on the personal opinion of the arguer. Some people like encounters that allow for strategy and planning, while others like to act on impulse and quick thinking/reflexes. Think Battlefield versus XCOM, or Titanfall versus Final Fantasy/Fire Emblem (Any turn-based rpg really). I'm not going to debate whether Destiny 2 succeeds in meeting any defined characteristics for its Crucible pacing if it has any specifics. There is one proposal that I believe would benefit both parties here: the ones who wish for a faster Crucible pace and those who prefer a slow pace. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Introduce an additional Crucible playlist that features a set of modifiers to influence the match. Modifiers could include fixed and rotating ones such as: * Decreased Guardian shields: Causes the required damage for a kill to be decreased by a desired proportion, and leaves weapon tuning alone to minimize potential sandbox damage. * Limited radar: Decrease usability of radar to put more emphasis on player skill such as map awareness and hearing distinction. and/or * Ability respawn rates to decrease or increase the rate abilities are received. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This playlist would introduce a Crucible environment that features such things as: quicker kill-times, less reliable radars and more pronounced ability use. All things that have seen pronounced discussion in online forums while at the same time preserving the already existing pacing provided in the existing game-modes. It satisfies those who wish for a faster pacing and keeps a portion of the audience from suffering from the same issues (A PvP pacing not in line with what they enjoy.). I know alternate playlists and modifiers aren't original nor unique. "Inferno" and "Mayhem" from Destiny (2014) are both prime examples of Bungie using separate playlists to introduce modifiers that would provide an altered experience for the users without tampering with the existing sandbox. Thank you for reading this short blurb.
