I See What You're Trying To Do, Bungie. Haha.

So, loads of people didn't but the DLC due to the boring content thus far. Fact. Why would you take a chance with yet another DLC when the developers have let you down time and time again? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me for 4 years straight, shame on me. Many, including myself are the latter. Anyway, I turned on Destiny 2 today to play a few games of Crucible, only to find that everyone has this gun called Promethean Lens, or whatever. It melts, no doubt. Very OP. Xur is selling it as many know. For people who didn't buy the DLC, it may feel like you missed out on other potentially great loot. You want to get your hands on this weapon, right? Instead of nerfing the weapon, which is typical Bungie M.O., they instead give it to everyone. I once read that some games will put you together with players that have certain loot that you do not have, in order to showcase the loot, and entice you to want the same loot. Spending money to obtain this sweet looking loot. The TTK with P.L. is quick. I've been on the receiving end.It sets fires and everything.. ~Chestnuts roasting on a open fla, sorry. The point is, Bungie knows a lot of people didn't but CoO DLC, so they must come up with something to get people to buy. Put Achievements/Trophies behind paywalls, Trials behind paywalls, Nightfall behind paywalls, etc. All while having everyone showcase the godly weapon known as 🎆Promethean Lens.🎆 Will it work? Will people give in and buy the DLC? You only have a few more days to buy Promethean Lens from Xur. Also, a lot of people are saying the Crucible is awesome and really fun now. Weird, right? I see that you did there, Bungie. Haha.

  • This very well could be done on purpose. However I'd like to bring the other side of this and a few things to keep in mind. So for one, if the gun really is bugged and it was not on purpose and somehow made it to launch, then it makes sense Bungie didn't patch it right away. They couldn't have. This is because any sandbox changes in a patch (things like weapon stats) needs approval from the higher up guys before it's released and at minimum it takes a few days to even have it reviewed let alone approved. If they already had a sandbox update coming soon it makes sense they'd wait til then. I think this is the case, and Bungie figured in the meantime if they made Xur sell it they would be able to avoid a lot of the complaints because everyone has access to it now.
