After 5000+ Hours, 2 Platinum Trophies, 2 AOT Shirts, 3 100% Record Books, MAX 5615 Grimoire, and Bungie Emblem ... I'm Calling It Quits On The Destiny Franchise
I was the #1 All-Time Ranked Player in Wisconsin for almost half of those hours too. This is my limit. I'm done, and I'm not ashamed to say so. I think I made a big enough splash in the water.

7 RepliesOutside of the bragging...I'm not going to bash you like everyone else, because at the heart of your post I get it and anyone who put any real time into D1 feels the same. We were told a 10 year persistent universe and character progression. The only thing that has been persistent is the lies and deception.

It's like a battered wife of 15 years finally getting the courage to leave her abusive husband, and we're all supposed to be like "Good job for not taking it anymore!" Meanwhile in reality... a simple "I played it for a while, liked it, but now I am done and moving on to another game. Bye guys!" Meh. You'll be as memorable as a fart in the wind.

Destiny 2 is actually one of the worst games I've ever played (Note: I don't play bad games). I expect that Osiris will be just as bad, if not a little bit worse than Destiny 2. But, the DLC after that will probably be pretty good. And the first and second expansions will probably be fantastic. So, my suggestion is, instead of giving up on Bungie all together, just don't buy the sequels. People hated Vanilla (I loved it) but they loved TTK (it was okay) and RoI (it was fantastic). So, if you bought the Taken King Version a year after the game came out, you saved a bunch of money and got a much better version of the game. If you waited to years and bought the RoI version of Destiny, you saved way more money and got a near perfect version of the game. TL;DR The moral of the story is, don't buy numbered games from Bungie, ever. Buy named games, like "Destiny: Taken King Edition", or "Destiny: Rise of Iron Edition". If you do that, you will probably have a ton of fun, and you won't be nearly as angry as we are now.

2 RepliesIt saddens me reading these posts, it really does. I was technically a “day 2” player, as I had some network issues when Destiny came out, that prevented me from playing. But I enlisted the help of the tech community in the Bungie forums, fixed some settings, and I was playing. From September 10th, 2014 on, I was racing home from work to play this game as much as I could. Played a ton of Crucible from the get go. Wasn’t even that great, but I still enjoyed the hell out of it. Got pretty good at sniping. Hated shotguns. Loved all the raids (yes, even Crota) for different reasons, though the Vault remains my favorite. I did preorder the game and season pass, so I’m stuck with Curse of Osiris and whatever comes after that. But as for DLC after season one, I think I’m done. I’m going to move on to new horizons. Destiny 2 just doesn’t have the “it” factor the first one did. Also, Destiny 2 didn’t innovate on the first one at all. The way they neutered the Crucible is so aggravating: - No dedicated servers after they were demanded - It was made SMALLER instead of larger like people wanted - Less of an ability to pull off “MVP” plays Of course, there are many other issues. They’re too much for me, personally. And it really sucks.

Just a statement saying that you spent a big chunk of time playing a game that you enjoy, and because you don't feel the sequel could ever be as good you're quiting? Ok. 1 ReplyForget destiny, I was bored and looking for something to play. So I went into free games on PS4 found fortnight and I’m hooked! It’s a lot of fun involved and a clear loot system. Still RNG but so much more worth it than destiny.

4 RepliesI am sad to say i am glad for posts like these. The Destiny franchise have sold a lot of games because gamers really want a FPSMMO. Tons of players have hoped for something like this for a looooong time. But the developers are strangling their own game, and are betraying the concept of the entire Destiny franchise. Everything is to streamlined, too easy.. There is no depth, nothing to work towards, no exploration.. There are no rare sparrows, shaders, weapons, gear, enemies... There are no builds, crafting, economy, strategy or choices.. there is just a overwhelming sense of boredom when i try to log on. Bungie need a kick in the butt, they feel complainers like myself are a minority.. But with time, their mistakes will show on their bank account. And i am a true Bungie fanboy, i have been on this site since march 2004. I love all their games, even D1.
