Has anyone ever killed a Titan before the barricade went up? I never have. I cant really imagine this being such a big issue. Its not like Nova Bomb where if you dont catch someone off-guard they can wipe you out AND cause you to lose your super. I just think the gains from an exotic such as this wouldnt be significant. Then again, i dont run Titan so i wouldnt really know.

You’re actually the first to say it isn’t OP enough lol. I’ve ran into this problem many times as a titan and other titans(3 friends) I know also run into this issue. It mostly happens when you’re in a gun fight with someone that is going to beat you or multiple guardians. A hunter could dodge out of the way quickly and evade death. A titan would use the shield before death but to me it’s not fast enough and I die before a rebuttal. Something similar could be done with a warlocks rift. It’s subtle and specific enough to be an exotic I believe.

Warlock Rifts cant save you in a direct engagement unless they are deployed BEFORE you enter said engagement. Basically, place them when you know a team is approaching, get the overshield, then engage. Youll still probably end up dead, but at least you could take one of them out. I like the rifts because it allows me to directly aid my teammates in combat, which is actually really fun. As for the barricade, it would be cool if it deflected incoming bullets back at the shooter. Oh and isnt there already an exotic that heals you when the barricade is deployed? Alpha Lupi?

I don't think you would see if they were trying to put up a barricade. I've had several instances where I was holding O to try to get a barricade up and I just get gunned down. I don't know if I would give my exotic slot to an instant barrier, but, it's an interesting thought

If you play on console, the obvious explanation would be that you were having FPS issues when trying to deploy the barricade. Or there's a short cooldown between performing certain actions and deploying the barricade, such as a delay after sprinting or using another ability.

It’s not the FPS as much as it’s the animation leading to the barricade. If the animation was gone or made quicker then it would make it better. But if that isn’t OP enough then decreasing the cool-down of the barricade could be added.
