Seriously how many times do we have to point out that Bungie is using Skinnerbox tactics to artificially prolong the lifespan of this IP? It's tragic and deplorable.
Comparatively, check out the recent patch notes for Diablo 3;

Concise, detailed changes some even with notes from the Devs (something Blizzard does quite a bit especially with Overwatch) and even if you don't play D3, hopefully you can appreciate the gist of that link. That is, a dev team committed to expanding player options, not restricting them at every turn. That's the real sin of Destiny, it's advertised as some awesome sandbox shooter where everyone can be a special snowflake when it reality, it's a stale, controlled environment that adheres to Bungie's strict, authoritarian vision. PvP's no different - oh sure, you have the illusion of choice, but I've never seen a PvP game where you're so forcibly incentivized to play to the meta.
D2's just another in a long string of over-hyped AAA's that failed to deliver. And I don't say all this because I hate the franchise, just the opposite. I can't help but wonder how differently Destiny would be had they partnered with EA instead of Activision.
