This game was never built for unlimited enjoyment. That wall was inevitable with any style of play. Unless you are capable of running back PVP, Destiny 2 is just not equipt to deal out endless pursuit. Some RNG factors aside, D1 was no different. And even then, this community is so divided on what type of 'grind' they actually want.

  • I gotta disagree with you on some aspects. D1 had more endgame, thanks mostly to the random rolls on guns. It had me occupied for hours in my spare time just to finally get a god roll on a gun. Yes it was tedious but when I finally got my ideal roll, it was worth it. I think what D2 lacks is everything. They need to ditch Armour +5 perks as this kills the drops. I am getting blues at the same level if not higher than my legendary stuff so where is the sense in that. I have 2 305 and a Cunter at 303. I never use my Titan 305 or the cunter. I have only done 1 nightfall as I see no need to do more. No raid completion either as quite simply don’t want tokens and the raid gear is nothing special. In D1 i did everything except trials because I detest PVP. Crucible for my Exotic quests only and iron Banner because in D1 it was worth it for the drops. Every raid completed multiple times and I am a day 1 player who remained committed to destiny until this shambles of a game.

  • D1's endgame was boring and it skewed PVP fairness by adding RNG luck to the equation.

  • I don't like CoD though. Why do you assume it is the staple in FPS pvp viability? That's like me telling you to go play world of warcraft, because you want the PVE to be different.

  • I think they failed in the last game cause they focused too much on PvP and not enough on PvE; felt like patrolling was just a waste of time and the worlds felt hollow even when you had to.

  • “Our plan from the start, was to make a world that people always wanted to be in.” This is from the mouth of Bungie.

  • Failed....they could have done a whole lot better if they had just played their own game for once and tried others to get ideas; like Diablo 3 with their forced alternate path system, Skyrim with their random event generator and map detail, Gears of War for it's collectables and appropriate scenery, Mass Effect for it's detail in the Story, it's collectables, and it's map count for exploration, and their own freaking creation Halo for it's story depth, lore, and character development not that they ever finished those games. There were so many simple ways to help make the worlds feel different each time you went to them within those games, some were finally implemented on a small scale like the lost sectors or the map tab but they need more things to do that don't involve the missions, strikes, crucible, or raids. We need social encounters, we a deeper connection to the story, we need side characters that we can connect to and actually feel bad for losing. We need more customization with our actual character like hair styles, make-up, beards, regular clothes for social areas, costumes for Halloween, more emotes, the ability to select which 4 emotes we can use instead of just one. We need to be able to go down into the city and explore, buy, trade, and go on missions to actually be guardians, you know they people who protect others. What reason have we to fight for some stranger we don't even see save for the start of the game when Shaxx opens a door or Zavala defends a door? Sure we get to see more of them now at the wall but they don't really talk a lot and there is no reason to hang out with them.

  • And some people always want to be in it. If just a few people are like this, then bungie has done according to their "plan". Don't take intangible video game marketing to heart, you will be disappointed 100% of the time.

  • This has nothing to do with the heart and all to do with the wallet. Being told there is a lot of game and being hit with a progression wall. Nice try.

What console game doesn't have a progression wall after tens of hours of play? Y'all are the greedy ones, this isn't an MMO.
