Entire PC Crashes During Destiny 2

Entire PC crashes within 5-30 mins of play of Destiny 2. It is the only game this happens with. Ran smooth during the beta, now it is unplayable. All drivers/OS up to date. Uninstalled and Reinstalled fresh copy of Destiny 2. Tried scan and repair from Blizzard launcher. No frame dips. Runs smooth, until it crashes. Screen will freeze then the entire computer shuts off and reboots. Stress tested gpu, and it's fine. Ran CHKDSK and it was all good as well. • Hello, Thank you for your report. This issue has been escalated to our internal teams for investigation. If you could answer the following questions, it would be helpful to those teams: -Are you overclocking your CPU or GPU? -Are you running any other programs alongside the Battle.net app and Destiny 2?

    • I have the same exact PC specs as you, Is your PC a laptop that happens to be a MSI? Either way, I am also having random crashes when playing the game and created a post about it not too long ago here: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/236797502?sort=0&page=0 Really hope this gets resolved soon! Thanks! TheLostCake

    • So my game would freeze promptly into a session, so bad I had to repeat the initial mission almost 10 times until I tried this: 1. Reset CPU clocks/voltage to defaults. 2. Reset GPU clocks/voltage to defaults. 3. Obtain monitoring software (MSI Afterburner is my choice) to check CPU/GPU temps. 4. Enable the monitoring window through MSI so you can see the max temp your GPU/CPU within a play session. 5. Run D2 along with monitoring software. Long story short I already was monitoring my system temps because of the crashing and nothing was above a danger threshold and nothing was shutting down to prevent damage so I naturally assumed it wasn't an overheating issue. So I changed all my hardware back to default clocks etc... and noticed a small drop in my temps which allowed me to play longer before a freeze/crash. Then I took my PC side case off and realized it was pretty warm but according to my monitoring software it was still within a safe limit. I decided to keep the case off and put a fan next to it blowing kind of inline with my exhaust fans and... NO CRASH FOR 5+ HOURS OF PLAY!! I couldn't believe it. My only theory is that perhaps SOMETHING within D2 causes certain temps to mess with the game. I've restarted and played several sessions today using this method with great success - not a single crash and I even upped my video settings to high/ultra and continued without a crash. So give this a try - check temps first after setting hardware back to default settings and if that still doesn't work open up your case. If that still doesn't work, add a fan or whatever method you have available to safely cooldown your hardware and the air around it. It's not a great fix to have the case open and a fan adding excess dust but hey, it worked for me. Hopefully as we head into the winter months my ambient temps will be low enough to run the game without an open case/fan. Let me know about your results - cheers! Oh and specs: Intel i7-4820k @ 3.70GHz 16GB RAM GTX760

      • Same issue here with Coffee Lake I have played Destiny 2 when my computer crashes and reboots. This issue I had 15 times yesterday. Sometimes after few Seconds, sometimes after few minutes. Setup i7-8700K Z370 ASRock Extreme 4 KFA2 1080 Ti EXOC Seasonic Focus Platinum 550w Corsair H115i Watercooler Crucial MX300 SATA SSD I had reset BIOS config, tests without CPU, RAM, GPU Overclock. Also I set up the fans on maximum but still crashes (cpu at 45C, GPU at 55C). It could not happen due Temperature. Also I tested that on Low graphic, still everytime I get reboot. FarCry Primal, SC2, DiRT Rally runs fine. PRIME test also. I will continue to find issues on my hardware, but I don’t believe that. Iam pretty sure it’s only happen with Destiny 2 and I don’t have Hardware issues. Yes I use latest drivers GPU, nVidia, Windows, but I will also Upgrade mainboard Firmware and Test different Powersupply

This is exactly what is happening to me, however at the moment only during campaign (could just be luck). Also with i7-6700k and GTX 1070. I've created another issue here: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/236602972?page=0&sort=0&showBanned=0&path=1
