D2 will get better. The game hasn’t fully released yet until it’s out on all systems. After it comes on pc they will have all the data they need to make changes and fixes. You can’t compare base D2 to D1 as a whole. If you compare both games to when they first came out, d1 was worse. A lot of people may not remember d1 at launch but there were a lot of problems. I am not defending Bungie. They did screw up. My personal opinion is that we are all jumping the gun and D2 will improve. The amount of content d1 had at its peek took 5 years. D2 has only had 2. Bungie obviously likes dlcs so the fact we all expected a game to release being 100% full when we already knew of 2 dlcs is ridiculous.

  • On a positive note, it's doubtful D2 could get any worse. Then again......

  • We absolutely can compare the two because this game is supposed to be a continuation of the first one. Where are all the improvements and great features from Destiny 1? Let’s list them, shall we? Quest Log - Gone. Sparrow and Ship Kiosks - Gone Shaders? - Better save up that sweet, sweet digital currency if you wanna look even remotely cool. Grimoire/Score - Who cared about the world-building anyways? Randomized Rolls - Before, if you could find yourself a crappy gun with really good perks, it was completely viable. Now, if a gun has bad perks, then it’s just plain bad, and nothing will ever change that. Heroic Strike Playlist - Gone Prestige Raid Loot - Nonexistent. No new weapon or armor designs... It doesn’t even drop higher light gear! Even Vault of Glass dropped higher stuff back then! As of right now, there is absolutely NO incentive to do the Prestige Raid. Legendary Ornaments - All gone Complex Subclass Builds - Gone Strange Coins? - nope What about Discipline, Strength, and Intellect? Those are all gone, and armor only provides a couple of different bonuses, which have almost zero effect in-game. I mean, what does mobility even do? Make you jump slightly higher? How can you compare that to a stat that makes you recharge your abilities way faster? And yes, I do realize that these ‘paragon’ armor mods are supposed to be the substitute for this, but without a visual representation, it’s completely meaningless. Even with five Arc Paragon Mods installed on all my armor pieces, it still feels like I have to wait forever for anything to charge. Armor is all pretty much completely cosmetic, save for Exotics, which brings me to my next point; why on Earth are most of these exotics just standard class and armor abilities ripped from Destiny 1? The Winged Warlock chestpiece is just the Angel of Light perk, and the Mechaneer’s Tricksleeves’ exotic perk is just to allow you to reload sidearms faster! That’s a perk you would find on normal legendary armor in the first game! Not to mention half the exotic weapons in this game are either from Destiny 1, or just plain boring. Look, these are just my personal gripes with the game. If you enjoy playing it, then that’s completely fine, good for you. I’m not trying to deter you from having a good time with it. I know Destiny 2 will get better, it’s the only reason I still have it installed as of now, to see what improvements Bungie implements. But that is NOT how it should be. Over time, improvements came that made Destiny an overall great experience. So where are they in this game? There were plenty of great decisions made with this game, but for a Day One veteran such as myself, the bad definitely outweighs the good.

  • They completely watered this game down for the sake of 4 million unique players.....but now 3 million have left and it’s just the 1 million player base and we know this game sucks....but will gradually get better over the next 3 years...fts...I’m sorry I can’t go through this again. I’m out.

Will the hit detection in PvP also get better and will i finally be able to see the enemies appear on my screen at the exact moment they see me appear on their screens? If so, i will keep playing Destiny. If not, then i quit. That D1 feeling is simply gone. Glad that i didn't buy the expansion pack.

  • Think about it, bungie had all of d1 to make D2 better, vanilla d2 is worse off than vanilla d1, The thing that kept vanilla d1 afloat was crucible. Look atvd2 crucible? its garbage, there are two sweat modes. Quickplay and competive, bungie took out all the game modes and your ability to choose what you want to play. I love crucible but bungie just made it so boring, first of all, bungie should have kept 6v6 for quick play, kept rumble and all the crazy modes and let you choose what you wanna play. Secondly competitve should have been 4v4 or whatever they wanted. I cant stand playing countdown, i habe not been through a full game of countdown cause people quit. We are being forced to play what bungie wants us to play. If crucible dies D2 dies because pve is already useless as is

  • Again I’m not defending Bungie. They gave us an unfinished game again. All I am saying is that we should have not been so surprised. Based on how the past has gone.

  • What I’m saying is this: Bungie has a track record of not releasing full games at launch. They release a base game and add onto it for years. People expected D2 to release and have just as much content or more then d1 at the end. D1 was the base game plus 4 dlcs. All we have is the base game for D2 as of now. Yes it’s messed up Bungie did this but that’s their plan and they are probably making a lot of money from it. All these people comparing on the forums are a very small percentage of the community. Bungie is making good money and is going to keep doing what keeps their wallets full.

In there eyes they have experienced half a game, and like you said expected D2 to have all of the content from D1 plus the new stuff. My belief is this D1 was great in alot of areas but was more than likely a nightmare to maintain, all the nerfs, adjustments , etc.

  • I wasn’t here for year one? First off don’t assume things you don’t know. I started on ps4 and switched to Xbox and leveled 7 characters total. I am most definitely a day one player as well.

  • D1 did have mass problems at launch. Would get kicked and disconnected constantly. Lack of content etc and did improve significantly. That said I think D1 was just a better overall game. They recycled garbage and sold us d2.
