Like if D2 is Disappointing ☹

I had fun at the beginning of the journey. Then I don't know what happened. The final nail in the coffin for me was the absence of prestige raid rewards. This time around I had the belief that D2 would pick up where year 3 left off. Not a few steps behind vanilla. I am Jack's broken dream. How are you guys finding the game at this point? How are you spending your time when online? Or are you taking a break till the expansion? Edit: Trending. I would like to thank you all for your contributions. It isn't satisfying for me that this post has so many people in agreement. I respect that the developers put in long hours and massive amounts of energy to craft Destiny 2. I understand that the product at launch is a foundation that will be built on in time. However, when you review the constructive feedback and the similar ideas from a variety of Guardians. It is genuinely surprising that Bungie didn't anticipate these issues would eventuate. Sadly this culminates in a validation of the title. At this point in time "D2 is Disappointing".

This is "Diet Destiny", a sequel to Year 1 in D1, not Year 3 in D1. Therefore, I'll just go back to Destiny 1. Played it (D1) for 11 straight hours today helping out new players and even guided a married couple who were new to Destiny, through the first 3 expansions. It felt great to help. But Destiny 2 is nice as far as the beautiful worlds go, and how amazing the soundtrack is. But everything else is simply a huge regression from what we had in Year 3. What we had in Year 3 compared to what we currently don't have in Destiny 2, is the reason why so many people played Destiny 1, and are so turned off by the sequel. It's one of the biggest letdowns as far as video game sequels go. And no, you cannot proclaim that "we just have to wait for the DLC" and that "it'll be okay. Just be patient.". It has nothing to do with patience. It has more to do with the fact that Destiny 2 should have been more of a complete game than Destiny 1 ever was within it's 3 year cycle. Now we're easily looking at another disappointing chopped up experience building up into another decently playable game with the requirement of DLC. I can tolerate having to spend money on DLC for the past 3 years, but not any more. I'm at that point and need to seriously stop justifying Bungie's decisions that "everything will get better with DLC". I need to stop that, and so do you. I don't expect Destiny 2 to have the same amount of content at launch that Destiny 1 had in Year 3. But at least go to great measures to ensure that everything of which made Destiny 1 replayable, is in Destiny 2, plus more. Destiny 2's population is dropping as Destiny 1's is rising and yet, the mass majority of whom have gone back, have already done everything in Destiny 1, and surprisingly still prefer it to Diet Destiny. That should tell Bungie exactly what they did wrong. If you enjoy the game, great. Play to your heart's content, but always remember how much better Destiny 2 could have been. Edit: Actually, I take that back about it being a sequel to Y1 of D1. How dare I defile such a great year... My apologies. D2 is a prequel of Y1 in D1, but with larger worlds. But larger worlds doesn't always mean more content. :P
