There's no such thing as a console FPS that doesn't have aim assist. I will agree that it is a bit strong on certain gear and when looking at certain enemies, so it would be nice if there was an adjustment somewhere.

Edited by Lordsa Jar-Jar: 10/20/2017 8:24:34 AMLike deadzones and aim mechanics? I don't think that's what he was referring to. If you notice the actual aim assist, it's too much. I noticed the aim assist in D2, and even D1.

The OP is specifically asking for AA to be completely disabled by default, which I think would be detrimental to the game on consoles. I would like to see it reduced to some degree, but still exist. But for an AA-less experience, PC w/mouse and keyboard is an option.

Every game needs aim assist to some degree, otherwise it would just be impossible to aim with the thumbsticks, I don't think anyone is asking for that to be removed, even if they are, they're not. Main problem is the actual lock on enemies aim assist that we have at the moment, it's just ridiculous.

There wouldn't be any issues without any form of aim-assist / auto-aiming, and there are a number of games that do not utilize anything of the sort. My main issue with the aim-assist is that it is actually more troublesome than helpful. Especially when you're aiming for one of the exploding barrels in a group of enemies, have your sights lined up, and then the game shifts your target to an enemy because it moves near the barrel. Another instance is if you're aiming at a particularly annoying Red Legion Psion and a grunt / legionaire happens to cross your path closer to you, the game swaps your target and has the gun point at the legionaire. Not saying the feature should be removed, but that there should be the option to turn it on or off in addition to toning things down. This way the company is catering to a wider audience, and can allow people the choice of how they want to play.
