Some new/veteran player endgame, change requirements (the game is failing, so let's give some constructive feedback and make destiny create again)

Get ready for a wall of text, but if you are new or a veteran player who loves Destiny and you are looking for better endgame experience along with better loot please keep reading. Some background, I'm far from new to destiny but I have never participated in a raid, nightfall and a trials match. Why is this? There are a number of reasons: for this: 1. I'm an below average player who had work and family responsibilities, so time is a big deal for me (my time is valuable to me and those around me). 2. Finding a group that's willing to spend their gaming time to help a below average player is something that doesn't really exist (or am I just looking in the wrong places?) 3. I hate talking over a mic, don't punish, or handicap me for not wanting to plugin my headset. So those are the main negatives for me not being able to finish most of the endgame content, now lets look at positives to address these issues where possible for people who can relate to any one of those reasons listed. In Destiny 2, Bungie added the new guided game feature, this was something I hoped would address my endgame experience. When I read the word guided game I was expecting the game to actually guide me by highlighting things like "shoot this, or having my ghost tell me what to do in a specific scenario" but that isn't the case, your guide is the people who decided to help you out. This is all good and well but still doesn't help people who don't have a mic or are below average players. On top of that I don't want to spend an hour looking for a guide group. Lets address this all in one go, by fixing guided games: The reason for the wait for a guided game is because rewards don't exist for these guided groups, on top of that these groups are being handicapped because of the "nood" in the fire team. So lets even out the risk and rewards for both the guided group and the new player being guided. I believe that guides should get an OP item for helping out a player, this item should only apply to a raid and/or nightfall when in a guided match, so that it won't affect the PvP playground. Bungie can make this gain part of the aura which currently doesn't do much for players. This will allow the group to perform as they would having a good player on their fire team. Bungie can also look at giving a clan a unique set of perks each week to a clan that helps out 2 or 3 players a week in a guided game (perhaps a extra powerful engram reward), this will incentivize clan play and perhaps help clan growth if they were happy/liked the player that was guided. Bungie should also consider giving guides a new vender and token system for exclusive loot (lets face it, most of use love the fashion). That should fix most of the PvE group play but what about trials? This is a tricky affair, because PvP is a serious matter for players across the globe but I do believe that having a "training" area would help out people like myself, this area should be like crushable quick match where players can play and build up a fire team for the trials, this allows less time in forums and players get to experience playing with someone before jumping into trials with a random player. So to recap, you play a match with your random team and at the end you can choose if you would like that person in your team and that person can decide to accept the request. Slowly you will fill up your winning team for your trials match. Obviously his will need some more though but this is why I'm adding this forum post so add you recommendations so that we can help make Destiny 2 great again.

 • Nice to see some constructive criticism on here instead of just ranting. Just wanted to add my thoughts as a regular raider that sherpas often: The 3 reasons you listed are probably the most common reasons people have trouble participating in the endgame. I’ve noticed sherpas and groups willing to teach have been harder and harder to find since King’s Fall, likely because that was the first raid that was actually difficult to carry people through. You could spend hours wiping because of 1-2 inexperienced players so a lot of sherpas got burnt out on it (I know my friends and I did). Guided games was a nice idea in theory but there is a lack of incentives to use it and it’s too easy to get penalized by it. Disconnections are considered oathbreaking so you can’t rejoin the group and raid checkpoints aren’t saved if it’s launched as a guided game. It’s just not worth using. Our workaround has been to find someone who wants to raid through guided games, get them in a party, mutual agree to disband the guided game then invited and launch the raid normally so everyone can get checkpoints if we don’t finish it and we don’t have to risk losing people to connection issues. As for the issues of skill, time, and mic usage, can’t really do anything about skill except suggest practice but if you have normal hearing and speech abilities, choosing not to use a mic wastes your time, especially when raiding. I’ve tried to help people that don’t want to use a mic and I’ve found it just triples the amount of time needed to get anything done. You don’t need to be chatty, just basic call outs and ask questions. Yes, we could use text and emotes but that increases the time needed to explain an encounter and emotes can be easily missed, which can cause unnecessary wipes.
