It was this time 3 years ago....

That I would have been waiting in orbit with my regular Fire Team, eagerly waiting to run Vault of Glass. We would be overly hyped about whether one of us would be blessed by RNG to get Praetorian Foil, Corrective Measure, Vex Mythoclast amongst all the other worth while "To Grind For" loot. 3 Weeks into Destiny 2 and what do we have to be over hyped for? Patrols, Nightfalls and a Raid that just gives Glimmer and Tokens (If you're lucky.) In-Game activities that give you Glimmer and Planet Tokens. YAWN. Empty Loot Caches, even after popping a planet scout to find them. Re-Skinned Weapons. Await a DLC that is basically rehashed shit. But alas, the fanboys are still here defending Bungie.
I don't need to use the #bait tag do I?
• This time, three years ago: 1. There would be nothing to do but the raid, the Nightfall, Strikes, and Crucible. 2. You had a loot system so broken that: a. People would be shooting into loot caves because it was more rewarding than actually playing the game. b. You'd most likely complete that VoG run and get nothing but "Chatterwhite and Shards". c. You'd either be complaining about "Forever 29", or running three versions of the same character each week trying to overcome the absurdly stingy loot system. 3. You'd be running around harvesting chests in the open world trying to get the materials you needed upgrade your gear. In fact, most of your play time would revolve around mindlessly grinding to level up gear and unlock its perks. 4. That's assuming you're not having to run the VoG to get the materials (Ascendant shards and Energy) to upgrade gear that the raid wont' give you. (I completed TWELVE runs of VoG with my Warlock and an Alternate, and had only ONE piece of raid armor to show for it). 5. If you were playing PVP, You'd have been running around trying to find a way to combat broken-and-overpowered weapons like Suros Regime, Vex Mythoclast, and Pocket Infinity. Weapons you had no way of readily getting yourself...and against which none of the game's other weapons could effectively compete. Bottomline, Beta and D1 Day One player here....and I'm getting REALLY tired of euphoric recall and "CoD Syndrome" going on here. I'm tired of people 'waxing nostalgic' for the "great game" that vanilla Destiny 1 NEVER WAS. Destiny 1 was a broken, poorly designed game that people fell in love with because of its great gameplay mechanics and in SP:ITE of its numerous other flaws. Flaws that Destiny 2 has either fixed, or in is in the process of trying to fix.
do I need to use the #reality_check tag?
