Was having the same issues. I was trying to recover characters that my autistic son deleted while I wasn't around. keep getting put in a vicious cycle of unhelpful information that refers me to forums about people complaining about color shaders etc. love the game but the customer service has been a nightmare.

bungie won't recover deleted characters/gear regardless of how it happened. console security is your concern not theirs unfortunately
