How I'd Fix Crucible

This is just an opinion. I'm not gonna just bitch about Destiny 2 and say I wont play it, I'm loving this game. But in this age of internet connected gaming, feedback can bring positive changes to already great games, so why not add my 2 cents. Don't wanna hear it, don't read it. My win rate in crucible is probably average. I'm not a pro, I have a full fireteam sometimes, other times I solo. A lot of people are zeroing in on one thing or the other, mostly because 90% of players deaths are probably from the MIDA. First thing, obviously, allow mode selection. Why they took that out, I don't know. Second, 6v6. Now I've read some articles about how the change to 4v4 comes from a desire to make the game more competitive... This has not been my (or anyone I know) experience. I assume this change REALLY stems from server loads or trying to keep network latency down or something of that sort, but my issue with the 4v4 has some distinct observations behind it. In D1, fireteam options were more open. D1: Team of 6 - Crucible/Raid/Split into 2 fireteams of 3 Team of 5 - Crucible Team of 4 - Crucible Team of 3 - Crucible/Loot/Strike Team of 2 - Crucible/Loot/Strike (with a solo from matchmaking) D2: Team of 6 - Raid/Split into 2 fireteams of 3 Team of 5 - ... Team of 4 - Crucible Team of 3 - Crucible/Loot/Strike Team of 2 - Crucible (but you're screwed because you're gonna face teams of 4) Now you look at that and say "you can still play crucible with a team of 3 in either game", that is true but when you consider that a team of 3 with an odd solo player will likely put you on the losing end of MANY crucible matches in D2 because of the likelihood of playing against a team of 4. In D1, you were half the team, and 2 fireteams of 3 sticking to themselves let alone sticking together could still compete against even a team of 6 (rare). My complaints come from the fact that I'm frequently playing with or am in a party chat with more than 3 people, and that's because I made friends in D1 to build a team of 6!! Now, we're constantly forcing one or 2 guys out so we can play in the (broken) crucible! Now what do I mean by "broken"? I've noticed that (and this was true for D1 too) that it is MUCH easier to get a team of 4 together than a team of 6, hence why raids are so exciting, difficult and rewarding, because of the coordination required. This difficulty was the same for crucible! It's much easier to coordinate a team of 4 (who are in the same party chat) than it is 6. So in Destiny 1 you had crucible matches actually reaching max score, more players to eliminate=more scoring, easy enough. There were FAR MORE 1v1 shootouts in D1 than there are now. This happens when you have more combos of 6 player teams (e.g. 4+2, 3+3, 4+1+1, 5+1... you get the point) So you say "well just play with a team of 4!", sure that works, but not everyone can do that. A mildly coordinated team of 4 beats any combo of solos/fireteams hands down, especially with the weapon balancing the way it is currently. Every firefight comes down to who can land the most MIDA headshots fastest (MIDA is easy to pick on right now). Obviously the team with 4 players huddled around each other are able to take out 1 or 2 opposing players. If 4v4 came from a desire to make it more "competitive" why is there a "quickplay" and a "competitve" playlist? I suggest laying out crucible the way it was before, with mode selection (bring back Rift!") and keep the 4v4 as the "competitive" playlist. I say this because, YES, 4v4 IS more competitive, but only for highly coordinated teams of 4 AGAINT highly coordinated teams of 4. As of right now there's not much difference between the two selections, including the amount of frustration for players who actually want to just play PvP more "casually". I have other complaints, I miss my handcannons (where my Hawkmoon at?), Hunters suck now, why does the smash titan get to run around for "5 minutes" with an area-effect 1 hit kill, Hardlight... you bring back HARDLIGHT?! (where my Hawkmoon at?)... but this is how I'd go about changing (fixing?) crucible.
