I've had a similar experience. I'm pretty introverted, so I always prefer solo play. It means I can play when I want and not have to worry if my friends are available. My ability to play is often spotty, and I'm constantly interrupted by my family, so team play isn't always in the cards for me. With Bungie making D2 less solo friendly, it has lessened its replay value for me.

  • I haven't bought it yet, because I've been waiting for reviews. I put a ton of time into D1; mostly solo. I was just about to the point of making the decision to buy this one, it's had much better reviews than D1, so I need to ask how it's less solo friendly than D1. Can you help me out here?

It's far less solo friendly for PvP. It's more team oriented and focused on gun play instead of abilities. I hate it more than words can say. I was more of a PvP player on D1, so this was a bitter pill for me to swallow. I have no interest in playing PvP other than for satisfying certain quests. However, I've been playing PvE totally solo and I'm having fun. So far, it is pretty good. If you are a PvE player, then I think it's worth buying for that alone. I'm still early in the game, so I'm not sure how much replay value it has at this point. Being a heavy (formerly) PvP player, it automatically has less value for me.

  • Thanks for this. I am a PvE guy. Only time I play PvP is when I have a quest which requires it or Iron Banner. Sorry about your PvP experience though. That sucks.
