Being Away From Destiny 2 Is Like The Separation I Felt When I Stopped Believing In Round Earth...

I recently flew across the disk of the earth, to China for a year long study program. I left on September 6th no less. As an ardent Destiny fan, the separation is almost intolerable. I want to be part of the virtual universe that has shaped me at both personal and intellectual levels. As some of you know, I am a Planar Theorist. In other words: I am someone who knows, based upon what my senses perceive, that the earth is indisputably Flat. But I was once like you. I believed in a round earth while having nothing more than a vague, elementary understanding of science that I thought confirmed round earth belief in an indisputable way. But then I got a taste of Flat Earth Theory from other progressive intellectuals across the web. It changed me. For the first time, I realized that being a purely rational person was possible, that I could disentangle my religious tendencies from what I believed about material reality. I was no longer a science zealot. So what does this have to do with Destiny 2? Everything. My shift to Planar theory came during a time in my life when things were hard, and HoW was the only real light I had. The imagery and philosophy underlying the Destiny universe opened doors in my intellect, making it possible for me to step outside of a scientific bias that was as strong as a religious crusader. The essentialistic conflict between light and darkness made me see that dualistic worldviews were possible. But with that change, I also felt loneliness, like something that had been part of me had been taken away. After all, my whole life had been spent as a round earther. I knew I was in the right place, but it hurt. Now far away in China, without good internet access to play D2, I feel a similar emptiness. I don't know whats going on with the battle against the Cabal, or whether the peril of the traveler has been averted. I don't know who you get your ghost back, or what characters even made it from the Tower. I want to be a Guardian, but I'm stuck in a far away place away from the game I love.
