As someone who is on the far end of the introvert spectrum, I can sympathize with you on all of this.
Even when my friends or clan mates invite me to the Nightfall or Raid, I get stressed out and get cold feet 90% of the time.

Then you need help. They are friends, you obviously have some deep issues if the people you call friends give you those feelings. Being on the very far end and diagnosed with social anxiety disorder, my friends are the ones who clear my head and make me excited to play.
