Kade studied the books on the shelf. Everything was normal, history of the Tower, information on subclasses, but he had heard rumors about a book being on this shelf that should not have been there. So far, Kade found nothing of the like. That was, until he crouched down his finger passed over a book that had no information on it. This must be what people have been talking about, he thought. Pulling it off the shelf, Kade gazed upon a symbol. It was not like anything he had seen before. It looked as if it was a combination of all the symbols of the Guardians. Standing up, Kade turned around to Ikora and asked the Warlock vanguard, “Ikora, what does this symbol mean?”
With a hint of disgust, Ikora replied, “It is a symbol that has only brought strife among the Guardians. It seems as though the rumors were true about this book being on the shelves. Listen to me, Kade, burn the book. It should never have been created in the first place.”
With that, Kade walked away from the Hall of the Vanguard with the book in hand. The vanguard are often right, but there have been times when they tried to cover up. So, Kade decided to talk to Master Rahool, since he would have an unbiased opinion on it. He approached the Cryptarch and repeated what he asked Ikora. Rahool replied “That is the symbol of a very rare class of Guardians. They were known as the Adepts for they could control all of the abilities of every class of Guardians. This was the journal of one such Adept, but he was banished from the Tower, much like Dredgen Yor. For someone like yourself, I would recommend reading it. You never know what you could learn, and we Chryptarchs held high esteem for him.”
Feeling that Master Rahool was speaking the truth, Kade chose the read the book. Entering his ship with the journal, he sat down on his bed, opened the book, and began to read.
