It's really cool that you're helping, but not everybody can be there. Instead of spending $500+ on a ticket down to Texas, you can use that money to help people that can physically help.

I never said everybody should be down here, but my team and myself are doing what we can. Charities like this always seem odd. They could literally pay to get teams like mine down to do more for the individuals than nickel and diming the people here when it's all said and done. The ".02 cents per" <--(exaggerated) that the individual might get does nothing if they lose life.

That and two, they'll usually wait until they have a lump amount of $ to send, but that takes too much time. A lot of places down here are taking the money hit, and giving out free water/food. Evac crews though, are usually volunteers/contractors. I haven't heard of any being privately funded unless it's through PPO work and their clients.

Just don't put people down for trying to help, obviously it's good that you're helping physically, but for the majority of the world, giving a few dollars is all they can do and it's better than nothing.
