For a state and people who voted down help to other states for their natural disasters?
Not one drop of blood and not one thin dime.
Consequences.

.....not everyone who had their home destroyed in that flood, has that ideology. The rich people who don't care about others, will be fine. The people who need help, are the ones who won't be completely covered and still come out of this fine. And I'm certain in that huge area, there are some decent folks. People better than you or me.

Native Houstonian here. While we are a red state most of the counties surrounding Houston tend to vote blue. Even our Mayor is a Democrat. Not only republicans had their houses flooded.

Treat people how you wanna treat them.
-
It's "firstly, treat people, how you would hope/want to be treated" and secondly "treat people how they treat you"
-
If we punished people based on how dumb the politicians are that represent them then no one would deserve help, your point is ridiculous and not well thought out in any way.

1st off- The people of Texas didn't vote down the relief. The idiot politicians did. 2nd- They voted FOR the relief for Sandy in their various committees. They voted against the overall bill because it had billions in non sandy related pork spending. They were very vocal in their support. You may want to educate yourself before spouting off.

Edited by Titheon7: 8/30/2017 6:51:44 PMWhile you are correct that the people of texas didn't down vote the relief for sandy, it is a false claim that has been debunked several times that the bills the texas senators and representatives voted against had none sandy related pork. This falsehood stems from the fact that some of the money was going to things like repairing a damaged roof in a museum in New York. On the face of it that seems like pork, until you find out the damage was caused by the storm known as super storm sandy. Also, when they did vote in favor of relief, they did so on a bill that would of cut government funding else where to offset the cost. This is a prime example of how politicians take one thing and twist it to fit their agenda. Let it be a lesson learned, and if you don't believe me, feel free to check out the supposed pork they were against, such as the example I gave.

Forget about politics for one minute and understand many many people's lives were affected. This one hits closer to home for me because this is my hometown city. ~TheGreatNike
