Thanks for taking the time to write this. As expected, the changes were so little they were basically worthless. Once again proving the fanboy shills wrong. How many times do they need proven wrong? Serious question.

  • Supers charge noticeably faster, weapons and abilities do noticeably more damage, strike boss dies noticeably quicker (probably too quick tbh). When you say idiotic things like the changes are worthless, seemingly refusing to actually see changes, it makes it harder for valid criticism to be heard. I am certain we'll all have tons of legitimate criticisms in a week when the console game is out and we're actually playing the entire game and not some small tiny slices. When those criticisms are given, it'd be nice if they weren't buried in drivel like your post.

I have seen many others saying the changes were almost completely unnoticeable. Take your own advice shill

Whelp it's over a week later, and there are plenty of valid criticisms to make. But heavy ammo is plentiful, abilities feel very powerful and charge in a reasonable amount of time, and strike bosses can be literally melted. Now see? Wasn't waiting easier? Can we now talk about something important like the fact that my teammates don't appear on the map? Or that roster got moved to the map? Or that I can't see challenges, or track their progress, when I have just received anything, such as glimmer? Edit: or the fact that the companion app is complete garbage now?

  • I do question why they defend Destiny 2 so much. The current line the give us is "the game isn't out yet you can't judge it properly"........that doesn't explain why they can defend it since the game isn't fully out yet.

  • The changes were so little they were worthless? I dont think any changes are worthless. Lets not mention, Bungie still has 2 MONTHS to work on this game until a PC launch. You seriously think a beta game is going to be 100% perfect? And I dont understand why everyone always looks for all the negatives? By no means am I a destiny fan boy (I only played D1 for 1 year on XB1 and then quit because I dont like controllers) Do any Anti Destiny people actually look for the good parts revealed in this Beta? Like 1. Extremely well optimized. Most systems low to high can run this game. 2. Nice Looking. Granted its not completely high end but it doesnt look like something from 2013. Its a modern game and arguably one of the nicest looking. 3. Good combat. Just like the first game, the PvE is some of the best combat in PvE ever created if you ask me. Only thing that comes close is borderlands 2. 4. PC master race support. Its not some shabby port. It has all the features and even has endorsements from Nvidia themselves. (21:9, SLI support, 4k, FOV Slider, Keybindings, Smooth mouse)

  •
Lets not mention, Bungie still has 2 MONTHS to work on this game until a PC launch. You seriously think a beta game is going to be 100% perfect?
Are you being serious with this line!? Destiny 2 releases for console in one week. One week. This means that the game "went Gold" 1 1/2 - 2 weeks ago (if not 3 weeks - a month...). They sent the entire game code off to the manufacturer so that it could be placed on disc, so that they can meet production demands and get the physical copies to retailers. The time to fix any inconsistencies and tweak mechanics has loooooong since passed. The Destiny 2 you're seeing in the PC Beta is going to be what the final game looks like. The Bungie Defense Force can parrot: "But it's only a Beta!! The Bungie Overlords would never ship us a broken, weak game!!! Trust in Bungie!!!", but those arguments fall flat considering the time table until the game release. Bungie is giving their Players a watered-down, weakened Destiny 2 (when compared to D1), and a Space-Magic Shooter that all-but has the Space Magic removed to appease try-hard PvP whiners. If your Guardian feels weak, if your Primary Weapons (both of the Primary Weapon slots) feel weak, if your Guardian's movement is as slow as a constipated sloth... the time to fix it "because it's a Beta!!!!" is long since gone. The abortion you're seeing in the D2 PC Beta is the game you'll be receiving in one week.

    1. Bungie definitely has 2 months to work on the PC beta of the game. Why else would they be releasing it 2 months later? 2. They sent off the game code to the manufacturer? Yeah they definitely did; however, there are such things as updates and hotfixes. I remember when I first got Destiny 1 on Xbox 360: I got the game around 2 weeks after launch (I saw Levelcapgaming playing the game so I said y not) and I bought the game. When I loaded in the disc, I was greeted with a DL screen rather than a play screen. Point of this boring story: In 2017, games are never final. 3. Bungie has time to fix inconsistencies, especially for the PC version of the game. PC doesnt have a physical disc copy of the game. Its all done through digital distribution. All Bungie has to do is get an update approved and then its sent out. 4. PC beta is definitely not what the final game is 100%. There isnt a point for feedback on a beta if they dont do anything with it. I am not purchasing this game on console. Consoles have laughably bad hardware compared to low end PC hardware in 2017. 60$ for this game isnt worth it when more modern consoles are just down the line. And maybe instead of whining you can be offering suggestions?

Does the game launch before PC on console? Yes. Are they going to change much prior to that? No. So, this build is basically what we get? Yes. Should this build even exist after all since Bungie had years and years of playtesting and data from Destiny 1 to go on? No.

  • More people just need to be more vocal, but if the majority of the playerbase is fine with the way the game is then likely nothing will change. I still like the game and will play it regardless, so I'm really part of the problem lol.

  • They actually bought that line that it was an "old build". These guys will believe anything.

  • This is clearly a newer build, because the last room in Homecoming only had one turbine. Unless the devs were lying about that.

  • Hey quick question. Is it impossible for them to alter an old build?

  • That's effectively what a patch is. They branch the code off on some good point. One branch has new development (e.g. DLC), the other has bugfixes and improvements and such. Then they get merged back together. So they totally could have branched off the PS4 build, removed the turbine, decreased the cooldowns, and released that, isolating those changes from the main game. But that makes no sense because one of the senior leads was talking about how "we made that change so long ago I forgot about it."

  • They made that change to the final build so long ago they forgot about it. Makes sense considering the beta builds were old. Most likely not even running the same build for the pc and console. And if they were, considering the feedback after the console beta I'm sure removing a turbine over the course of a month wasn't too difficult a task.

  • Removing a turbine, making some balance tweaks, then re-verifying over the course of a month might be a very difficult task. Mainly the re-verifying bit.
