Thanks for your input. I didn't expect it to be drastically different from the console beta. Super and ability recharge times need to remain slow because of their PVP design and their wish to place more emphasis on gun play than ability or power weapon play. That's fine for a pure FPS which is PVP oriented, but doesn't work in PVE IMO. Overall, not seeing anything that changes my mind about NOT getting Destiny 2. The D2 weapon system is such an egregiously negative change to PVE solely for PVP reasons that I can't justify spending any more money on the Destiny franchise until they separate the modes completely. If we PVE players were sick and tired of having crap nerfed in PVE for the sake of PVP, if we were sick and tired of PVE suffering because of changes deemed necessary for PVP, then I don't see how anyone who claims to be a PVE-oriented player can justify buying into D2. D2 will continue the same PVP-oriented trend that was prevalent in Y2/Y3, except its on steroids now.

  • It doesn't even work in PvP in Destiny because you're supposed to be -blam!-ing legendary space mages.

  • It works in PVP, if you want PVP to be like Halo. Unfortunately, I liked Destiny because it was different from what halo had to offer.

  • I'll give you the only reason I bought it - my clan voted to buy. If they quit or I leave the clan there wouldn't be a reason for this PvE player to stick around.

  • I understand. I'm not going to tell people what to do. All I'll say is that at least 80% of my clan that was still present when TTK launched is still together, even though we don't even play the same games sometimes. We've realized that the interactive play is less important than actually staying in touch with friends. So if everyone is playing Elder Squirrels Online, and I feel like playing Halo instead, I can do that. I'm still in the party with everyone, contributing to the conversations and goofing off and the asshattery we perpetrate every night. I understand why that wouldn't work for others out there, but it works for us, and it gives me and everyone else in the party the freedom to pursue whatever game they actually WANT to play. There's much less pressure to play a game that, quite frankly, sometimes people just don't feel like playing some nights. And it has been a good change - at least for us.

  • This asshattery you speak of sounds delightful. What's the age range of you guys? I'm a married 34 year old dad of a 3 year old and would enjoy that immensely.

  • This is one thing I don't understand... People complained because we got so many nerfs on D1 (miss so much being able to carry 18 Black Spindle rounds...), yet, D2 is coming out as a HUGE nerf to D1, and people just swallowed it like it was nothing. Overall, the D2 experience is a nerfed and lackluster one to me.

  • nerf everything, D2 looks beautiful but the weapons system is awful. We played it for the weaponry and the feel of the battle. Slow grenades and bad loadouts are not getting me hyped

  • I like where it is at. It requires more thought, and makes you pace your grenades and supers. I don't think it is meant to be a "nerf" to D1, just different. Plus, starting like this leaves more room for buffs and less nerfs.

  • Because people have been numbed to it incrementally since D1 Y2, at this point it's an expectation that this game would be as barebones in base play as possible and apologist argue that its for better 'balance' for a competitive game.
