First impressions matter

Not in a strike or anything that you'll probably repeat multiple times. It's like hearing a song on the radio. Just because you only caught the last minute doesn't mean you won't enjoy the full song. Just listen to the whole thing. Easy.
Not in a strike or anything that you'll probably repeat multiple times.
I'd say that makes them matter more. Why would I want to repeat something with a shit first impression? Also there is story to strikes so first impression matters for that as well.
It's like hearing a song on the radio. Just because you only caught the last minute doesn't mean you won't enjoy the full song. Just listen to the whole thing. Easy.
Song on a radio that doesn't matter because there is no narrative to most songs.

Why is it automatically a shit impression? lol You're assuming that starting the strike late automatically makes it a bad time, which doesn't have to be true....not at all. This is such a non-issue.
-
Starting anything in progress for the first time will always be a bad impression for me. It doesn't have to always. Just enough like me to impact our experience enough to be disappointed and potentially disengage from the story bungie has claimed they have tried so hard to fix.
-
I'm trying not to offend, but if starting one level late is enough to disengage you, you weren't really engaged in the first place, and if a strike disengages you from the story....yeah, same thing. Keep in mind that when it pertains to story, if it's anything like D1, there will be story versions of the strikes outside of playlists where you will encounter all these things for the first time, from the beginning. This is a beta after all. Let's just keep that in mind.
-
You could end up in progress on those too though. Took 3 Malok strikes to actually see the beginning when it released. But as for it's a beta yah and this is feedback to prevent that scenario. I don't really mean disengage from the game but the story it's not hard. Especially in a game like destiny where it's built to facilitate activities not the story. The set up as it is breaks immersion for me constantly

I guess I was lucky because I never did, but I'll take your word for it. Granted I also used a fireteam sometimes so there's that. I'd also argue that Destiny 2 is much more story-driven than built to facilitate strikes, but we'll see when the full games out. I'm sorry it does that to your experience, but as someone who burns strikes grinding for loot, I can say that spawning into a boss fight is such a blessing lol. And I think we can both agree that first and foremost in Destiny is loot.
