They are siblings still. How about this: they were originally brother and sister, but Soni was separated from Shadow, and afte rhs egot into trouble she went into the Clovis Bray Exo Program. Shadow and her shared a little family talisman though, each of them having a piece, so when they were resurrected as guardians, they found each other in the City by Shadow seeing Soni's piece of the talisman. They reunited, albeit Soni only remembered bits and pieces of her past. Later, they were recruited by Lady Vixen after she noticed their prowess in manipulating Solar Light in a crucible match. She brought them to Sir Travis, who, after they proved themselves, knighted them and gave each of them swords to wield. Shadow's blade is Solstriker, and Soni's is Blastburner.
