Story Inconsistencies Bungie will refuse to address

We all know that Bungie would rather that their Story/Lore inconsistencies just be ignored and disappear. They've made a habit of this, after all, all throughout Destiny's soon-to-be four years. One of the best examples is The Stranger. An absolutely chopped up, mangled storyline with nigh-zero direction or relevance to the Story, and in response to Players wanting an explanation for what/where has she gone (while leaving that whole part of the story open as a huge gaping hole), Bungie answered thus in an interview:
We feel that the Strangers story was fully written out and had come to it's natural, logical conclusion. Looking back at it, we feel that we handled it very well, and in a way that closes out her part in the Destiny story very well.
While there's the obvious and glaring issues with that cheap cop out, doing this in between D1 and D2 only creates many more inconsistencies that I fear Bungie will never even touch on, much less fully explain. So, lets make a list of current inconsistencies based off of what we know about Destiny 2, shall we? - If our Ghost is out of the picture due to lack of the Traveler's Light, how the hell can we resurrect? - Our characters had voices in D1, what the hell happened to those? Acute laryngitis? - If all of our stuff got nuked, how do we have the weapons we start off with? - If we meet up with Shaxx in the opening mission, and he specifically let's us rummage through his own personal vault for that first exotic, why is his selection such shit? His vault (apparently) went untouched in the assault, so why can't we get some weapons that are actually useful? - Why the change to our Supers and abilities? What prevents us from using the space magick that we wielded with lethal supremacy in D1? - Why can't we just go and visit the Reef or Temple when we get a ship to escape from the onslaught? - Speaking of... where the hell did the Reef and the Temple go? We know from the reveal that they're not on the map as travel destinations, so where the hell did they go? - Our Vaults were also at the Reef and the Temple, what happened to those caches of our gear? - Why the drastic change in how our Guardians move/jump/play? Did we get polio suddenly? - Why are all the decisions about the game centered around PvP, when only around 20% of the entire game population played the PvP? - Why was the Traveler silent as we got our asses handed to us? It protected us from all of the "Darkness" races at once, why not now when we're facing extinction yet again? - Why did I need to go to the Speaker? Aside from the abysmal main story in D1, what was the importance of the Speaker after that? - If my Ghost is gone, how do I survive that fall off of Gary's battlecruiser? - Why does Ikora still have the kick-ass Nova Bomb, and I get stuck with throwing purple cottoncandy into the wind? - Why does Cayde still have a one-shot-kill Golden Gun, and the one I get is nothing more than a water gun filled with urine (and about as effective)? - Why all of the sudden do my precious Scout Rifles feel like nothing more than a BB gun? No... I strongly suspect that Bungie will handle all of these inconsistencies in the exact same manner that they handled the Stranger. They'll ignore them, never address their sudden disappearance/unavailability either in the story or in the various lore sources, and then say in an interview that they believe that they successfully wrote all of these to a satisfactory finish/ending. Especially they'll never answer why; if the Vault at the Tower got nuked, why couldn't you just grab your stuff from the Vault kiosks at The Temple or the Reef. In fact, they won't ever even mention why you can't ever even go back to the Reef or the Temple once you get a ship in D2. They'll just be... gone. No explanation. No lore. Just gone. And then Bungie will again tell you that "they feel that they've done a wonderful job of wrapping up those stories." ... An entire civilization of Awoken out on the Reef, just evaporates into thin air one night as the Cabal nuke the Tower, of which the two destinations are LITERALLY hundreds of millions of miles away from each other. Same with the Temple. It's nowhere near the Tower or the Last City (the Last City is in southern Turkey, the Temple is in Russia), but with no explanation or even a line of dialogue, it will just be gone and forever unavailable. The Last Bastion of and Home for the greatest, most powerful Guardians that had ever lived, and it just disappears without even so much as a whisper. I don't know what kind of spastic monkeys Bungie has writing the Story for D2, but they need to be given janitorial duties instead of writing for video games. Because they really suck at it.

 • Yes, let's just run to The Reef, whose fleet was almost entirely destroyed by Oryx, leaving them with very little to defend themselves with, let alone the guardians. That seems like a good idea. Or let's just lead the Cabal to a different poorly defensible location, one that contains all the information we have on SIVA. Because once the Cabal get their hands on THAT they surely won't be undefeatable. Another brilliant idea you got there.
