Can someone explain why people r so crazy behind pc's. I was looking to buy a gaming laptop for games like PUBG and OW but a 600$ laptop performs almost the same as a console, sometimes consoles perform better from what I've heard. Plz correct me if I'm wrong I'm new to this pc side of things.
i know this completely irrelevant to the main post but like I need help understanding this shit
• Hey Globalsnow5 if you are going to buy a pc for ow, the minimum to run the game was a 960ti and I have a geforce 1060 so I can play overwatch on the highest graphics (not really much of a difference). However, there is still some buffering that happens when I play pubg and Im. pretty sure that its a graphics prob so try to get a 1080 since the price dropped anyways recently. *thumbs up* ;)

 • That's because you were looking at a laptop. You get much more power for your money with a desktop.

 • Well I'm not an expert or anything, just an enthusiast and I would say the first step is to establish what performance you are after or what your budget for the build is. Here in the UK at the moment for about 500 pound you can make a pc with an i5 and a 6gb nvidia 1060 which is a good low to midrange pc build. It would also out perform the xbox or ps4 without much trouble. You can find websites that allow you to mock up pc builds and see what rough estimate of prices for parts you are looking at. As for the general knowledge on what parts are worth buying and what is not you should search forums and sites like toms hardware etc As for using a laptop for gaming, I would advise against that since a laptop that can actually run games at a good level will be super bulky and even then be limited to a wall socket to charge while playing. Laptops also have less longevity since they aren't usually upgradable and if they are they have fewer parts that are compatible. Personally I've been wanting to make a new rig since my current one is pretty much prehistoric and I'm just waiting for the end of this year to see if anything major comes out that may be worth investing in before I start.

 • Good advice, also laptops heat up a ton. I'm waiting too, but it seems something incredibly cool comes out every few months now ;)

 • For me its being able to play with my boy, no second Xbox one and live for the year as well that he won't use all the time. 600 will get a decent battle station vs laptop.

 • $600 dollar laptop will not match xb1 or ps4 games, unless you get a used one with dedicated graphics. Most laptops will have integrated graphics at that price.

 • Yea that's what a lot of ppl were saying as well, "but a laptop with dedicated graphics". What's the difference though?

 • A laptop with dedicated graphics has a separate chip/card running the video. With integrated chips, the graphics driver is part of the CPU, and shared resources. However, the integrated chips are getting to be pretty good--especially the AMD ones.

 • So is there like a major difference in quality?

 • Yes, in some applications. Integrated graphics share memory with the system, so it will run slower than a similar setup with a dedicated card--the trade off is that the dedicated card generates more heat and draws down the battery down faster--so they tend to be no portable. I have a laptop for portability, and a PC for gaming, plus, with a PC, you can upgrade over time, cpu, video card, ram, hd can all be swapped at later points--with a laptop, not so much.

 • You can build your on pc for about 500 and outperform a console. Don't as me how I had a cousin do it for me because I wanted to play some games and my laptop didn't run them properly.

 • Yea that's the thing I have no idea how to build a pc and I'm not willing to risk it.
