I just find it funny how us Humans have the nerve to say we are going to destroy life on earth it truly is baffling.

Short of the sun turning into a red giant and engulfing the Earth or a direct hit from a gamma ray burst, there's very little that would wipe out all life on Earth. Doesn't mean that the planet getting hotter won't cause severe ecological upset.
-
True indeed should a catastrophic event occur such as a nuclear war some life would survive and it would most likely take several million years for life to diversify as much as it has today.
-
Destroy life? No. Maybe with nukes, yes. But we'll definitely damage a lot of life.
-
Life finds a way in Chernobyl there is still life.
-
That was one place.

It's not really our nerve though, is it? Isn't it just plain old ignorance and defensiveness? If I didn't know about climate change, and I saw Bill Maher indirectly call me stupid for not, I might be less likely to accept that feedback.
-
Honestly I think climate change is occurring as the earth periodically cools and warms I don't believe it is as drastic as scientist say though but if it is real then the people who believe in the climate change model that scientists are saying is accurate are pushing people away and that could harm the human race down the line because it seems so hard to treat people with respect.
-
I meant to add (but edit won't work atm) that I agree with what else you said. The challenge is to not push others away. To not demonize them.
-
Yes climate change is natural. However when scientists say it's warming beyond that (and we're just talking about climate change here not pollution or other environmental issues) and that we're A) increasing that warming dramatically and B) it is THAT bad, who is one to say they disagree without explaining in detail why?
-
So if someone disagrees they must do it in detail, but you don't need to support your side in great detail? Lol, I find that amusing. Fact is global warming could be caused by several different things, from increased solar flare activity, tilt in the Earth's axis, or change in orbit around the sun. But if you notice, you can't blame those things on people and use fear to profit off of them.

Oops, edit not working. Here's the link I mentioned.

Did you not click the link in the OP? Regardless, 97% of scientists agree that humans are exacerbating climate change. That number, 97, was come to by two separate study methods. Here is a meta analysis on the exacerbation of climate change by humans and why so many people don't understand the scientific consensus.
