Sometimes what's popular is good though. It's not always everyone jumping on the bandwagon just to be included into conversation for example. But, in some cases you're right on point though. I just found that [i]sometimes[/i] the popular thing is worth checking out. It all depends on what the popular thing is. In some cases, the less known stuff is so much better. Especially (totally off topic) sports nutrition and the supplement industry I've found.
