Edited by FairlySplendid: 7/27/2017 2:18:47 PMDude, watch the weapon's walk-through video? They explain it in pretty cut and dry terms. It's a arc laser that get so hot the weapon foundry developed liquid "ammo" that doubles as super-coolant for the weapon's core. The end, no need to overthink it. Omolon liquid ammo always matches the color of the elemental type. It was that way in D1.

Edited by GalaxySpider: 7/27/2017 1:17:09 PMThe reasoning is found within the name, specifically "heart". The IGN video shows a side view of the gun/concept and indicates to the core saying "The heart of the gun is submerged in coolant gel". That's why is it called Cold Heart.

At my university we're testing super conducters on MRI machines and the only thing that is cold enough to cool it is pure helium.

I think an ice subclass or damage archetype would be very cool.

If it actually has an ice archetype then yes, it would be pretty awesome. But word already goes around that it'll be arc (not sure if it's 100% confirmed though).
