Energy weapons have a damage bonus when against shielded enemies (even better for ones they match elementally). This gives them a defined purpose in the game, and people view them as superior as a result because Kinetic weapons don't have anything special about them.
I suggest we give Kinetic weapons the same damage bonus, but for unshielded enemies instead.
It gives Kinetic weapons more of a defined purpose, and also serves to ensure they aren't viewed as inferior by the playerbase. This means people will think more carefully about which weapon to use in their current situation.

Edited by Laser Kittens: 9/28/2017 1:55:23 AMPvE Energy weapons to roughly 10% less damage across the board vs unshielded enemies. Approximately 20% more to a shield, regardless of type (special modifiers excluded) PvP Both the same, however energy weapons having a reported bonus 10% damage to Guardians using a "roaming" super Personally, instead of attempting to buff one or the other, taking a sideways approach and making enemies even without shields more vulnerable or resistant to the types.

Supernecro: I think that energy weapons are a little too effective in PvP. If they weren't as effective as a god-damned kinetic weapon vs non-supers, they might be less frustrating to play against. As of right now however, the majority of these highly-effective weapons are auto rifles, and omolon ones at that. Which should have a shorter effective range than other weapons of the same type, but that's just me.

I agree if they don't overboard on it. Whereby making it more game worthy to switch back and forth when needed. This does force a player to be adept at his choice of weapon too, requiring to learn what works best for the player at that time for that fight.

A good idea to make Kinetic weapons more defined in their roles.

BRILLIANT. honestly it won't be much but, it will give a reason to use certain weapons at certain times. great idea.

I think this is a good idea, as long as they don't go overboard with it.
