Lob it over pve heads, shoot it to detonate it when you want it to pop.
I haven't used it in pvp. Seemed pointless and it wouldn't catch anyway in pvp.

Nor have I used it in PvP. I was killed a couple of times by it, but they basically have to use it at close range. There was one video I saw where it actually tracked on a Guardian and chased him down, making 90° turns. I never got it to track at all and when I tried to hit the Boss Vex in PVE, it sailed over it's head.
