Yes but the base mechanics and game architecture were what D1 got so right and kept the game interesting this whole time. The details of loadouts, classes, weapons etc was always clumsy and never really made sense and that is what has been rebuilt for d2, which is what they should have done. D1 had some big fundamental flaws: a confused story line, poor pvp server architecture and net code, and poor navigation through the world and social integration. Everything else was bang on. So far it seems they've fixed most of those issues but we'll wait and see. I don't know what you'd actually expect from the "sequel". A completely different game? Then it's not destiny any more is it?
