Thought process of someone who cancels their preorder

1) "This beta has things wrong with it." 2) "Obviously, the beta is terrible and this is exactly what it's going to be like on launch". 3) This Week At Bungie says that some of the problems have already been fixed on the current build of the game, and that they'll continue working on the other issues leading up to the launch. 4) "Obviously, the beta is terrible and this is exactly what it's going to be like on launch". 5) Cancels preorder. I know not everybody does this, but the number of people that do is shocking...and it's stupid as hell to boot.

  • Thought process of someone who defends Bungie in the face of all contradictory evidence... 1. Bungie puts out beta. 2. Beta is overwhelmingly poorly received. 3. Bungie says, "Oh, BTW that's a two-month-old build. We have a super-secret new build where all this stuff you brought up is already fixed. Trust us." 4. Well if they said it, it must be true! 5. Has a momentary flash memory of the many times Bungie has intentionally mislead the community but pushes it aside. After all, Bungie did say "Trust us". It must be true.

People don't trust bungie. I don't. I'll wait for full reviews now. Only preordered to be able to actually play the beta with my limited time

    • "Wait until the beta!" Beta is disappointing "It's an obsolete build, wait until launch!" Game launches playing decent, but incomplete and disappointing. "Wait until the first expansion!" First expansion isnt bad, just overpriced. "Wait until the second DLC!" Second DLC is the same story as the first. How long am I expected to wait for issues to be resolved? How much am I supposed to pay for problems to be fixed? Look, if I have issues at all on launch day, I'm requesting a full refund from Microsoft (one reason I went with Xbone, they actually give refunds).

Because they see the writing on the wall and don't want another 3 years of mediocrity at a premium price, they're stupid? Here's an idea, worry less about chastising disappointed players and defending Bungie and worry more about yourself. Its not the player's fault, it's Bungie's.

        • It's actually a good decision to cancel the preorder until the consumer is satisfied that their concerns have been addressed. Money talks. It's the only power the player has in this situation. There will be plenty of copies available at launch if they agree with bungie that changes have been implemented well enough to address the feedback/criticism/concerns.

        • I guess I'll keep repeating this: Bungie betas are pretty spot on and a good representation of what you are going to get. It's an average shooter now. Unmemorable.

nah, people who say they are cancelling preorders are just being dramatic. They'll all be there day one of destiny 2's launch. they're the same people who proclaimed they were boycotting D1 each month on the forums, but ended up eating every last morsel of dogshit bungie put out and replayed the same content 1000 times over

            • Gamers over-react. The flip side of this are the people insisting Anthem will be the greatest game ever...based on a single in-engine trailer at E3.
