I don't care what the forums or Reddit says

D2 beta is awesome, I'm still getting the game, and I'm still going to love it. Things are different, yes, isn't that what we wanted? New game, new mechanics , different abilities. I swear I love this game but streamers and youtubers have ruined gamer's minds. Stop listening to the internet rant , and make up your own mind. If you don't like it, don't play it. It's that simple. For the rest of us, we will be enjoying this game for the long haul. I hope to see you all starside! Sign if you agree! Edit: thanks for the upvote! This game is going to be awesome! Anyone wanting to join a clan that doesn't stress too much, and doesn't get too sweaty, but still wants to win and raid, feel free to join us. Especially if you're from Tx!

  • What the heck are you talking about? Did you actually play it? The mechanics are virtually identical. So primary weapons with burn now occupy the secondary slot instead of the primary. That's a nerf, not a new mechanic. So existing secondary weapons now occupy the heavy slot. Again, a nerf. So Strength, Discipline and Intellect are not built into all gear and instead replace certain armor mods with reduced effect. Again, a nerf. Crucible, Story Missions, Strikes and Raids? All existing game types. The enemies? The same. The voice actors, characters, classes, gear slots? All the same. Please name for me one thing that's actually new- and keep in mind a new Crucible "mode" was released with TTK, that's an expansion level change, not a fundamental change to the game or its mechanics. I suppose there is ledge grabbing. Woo hoo. As to "different abilities", 90% of them are existing abilities, either directly ported, or reskinned and shuffled around. Warlock has hammer instead of Titan, and gets the Defender's Bubble Add on Effects (heal or increased damage) as a standalone "new ability". Hunter gets Shadestep, an existing ability, on all kits but with a giant cooldown. Sure there are some actual new abilities for Titans, a shield instead of a bubble for example, but if they choose 1 of 2 total options that ability gets outright replaced- by the old bubble! They also get to build a small wall or big wall, the only "new" ability that is actually new. Were you fooled by the reskins into thinking the Arcstrider is somehow different from the Bladedancer in a way more meaningful than the removal of invisibility effects? That's the most significant way in which the abilities are different- in their absence. Not just in terms of reduced subclasses, but the defender for example now kits into his base kit from before, and lacks the orb generating prowess he once had. The Warlock solar based kit, on a class with the keyword "recovery", is most notably different from a combination of their previous kit and the titan hammers in that it lacks the ability to self res, which is what really made them unique and gave them a meaningful PVE role. You're interpreting a game with nerfs to every aspect of itself, with vastly reduced character choices, and very, VERY few meaningful new ones, and with a game which is no more 'different' from the previous title than its expansion was from its pre-expansion self, and interpreting that as a "new game" with "new mechanics" and "different abilities"? I would LOVE for you to elaborate on exactly what and how is so new and different about it.
