D2 beta is awesome, I'm still getting the game, and I'm still going to love it.
Things are different, yes, isn't that what we wanted?
New game, new mechanics , different abilities.
I swear I love this game but streamers and youtubers have ruined gamer's minds.
Stop listening to the internet rant , and make up your own mind. If you don't like it, don't play it. It's that simple.
For the rest of us, we will be enjoying this game for the long haul. I hope to see you all starside!

Hit detection, super/ability charge rate, power ammo drop rate, super/power weapon damage. Just to name a few. Gameplay feels fine, but Bungie has never had a problem making a shooter feel crisp and responsive. Right now it feels like we're fighting with one hand behind our backs. Hopefully we get to feel powerful again once the final game ships. To be fair, were not using our fully upgraded classes yet either. I'm curious to see if having the other ability nodes unlocked would make a difference. For example the six shooter perk is really[i] not[/i] the right choice for PvP so how good that subclass can actually perform is currently up for debate.

As always, the thing I believe bungie misses over and over is letting us play however we want to and making the play space worth visiting over and over. Those things will make the game worthy of our time. Let me solo, let me team, let me match make, let multiplayer be 4v4 and 6v6 and 12v12. Let me do it, how I want to do it. The more they go in this direction, the better off the game will be.

4 RepliesIt's not as bad as everyone is making it seem,but it's not as great as you seem to think it is either. I am going to play it,and I hope they iron out the issues in the beta..but I haven't been very excited about what I have seen so far. The strike is good. Interesting environment. Plenty of enemies. Bad ammo drops,low weapon usefulness. The whole "it's just the beta" crowd is silly. Just as silly as the "I cancelled my preorder even though I didn't play the beta because I hear it's terrible" crowd. I don't like the new weapons system. If the weaponry becomes more effective then great. I'm not going to assume I know what the real game is going to be like just because of a lackluster beta showing or because of whining children I don't respect on a forum. Make up your own damn mind and get on with your life. I know it's hot outside,but still. Anyway.

Only thing I will say is; cool down times NEED to be faster, plain and simple. I'm also not worried about DPS with 2 primaries because we haven't even scratched the surface of weapons available in the full game

No mans sky is less boring than d2's mechanics. Have fun waiting 5 hours to use a grenade and spray 400 bullets with your 2 primaries.

Most of the threads that were criticizing the game have been pushed down and are no longer on the first couple of pages. It's back to "hilarious" memes, "Thank You Bungie!" posts, and links to pictures of destiny themed kitsch that was made by the redditor's "completely real" significant other. Streamers/youtuber by and large are very supportive of the beta and the game - especially the destiny focused ones. Why? Because their livelihood depends on Destiny remaining popular and played. If Destiny 2 crashes and burns and the hordes of 12 year-olds move on then people like Datto are screwed. Sure, some smaller streamers/youtubers have been pretty critical of the game but it's not like anyone really cares about your opinion when you've got less then 100k subs (for better or for worse) Look, there is nothing wrong with loving the beta and loving Bungie. And there is nothing wrong with wanting to chat with and be around like minded people (to a degree of course) But don't act like you're some heroic individual boldly challenging the collective by your lonesome, when there is a cornucopia of pro-Destiny 2, Pro-Bungie spaces to hang out in.

I love D1 and will surely love D2, but I think the majority of the players will agree that this beta sucks ass.

I personally also really like the game mechanics compared to D1. People are saying you feel underpowered in PVE and slower movement than destiny 1 which is true. But in my opinion its not a bad thing. We were way too overpowered in Destiny 1. There was not a single moment in the whole three years where I found a mission that wasn't challenging or that pushed me into a corner with a state of desperation, low on ammo, needing to think who is important to kill first and advance my position. You always just ran through everything, or to make it faster, pull that heavy and just blow everything up cause theres plenty everywhere. So I'm really looking forward to the story, campaign missions, strikes, and raid this time around. I think it'll be more challenging which is gonna be a great thing.

Yeah I agree with most of what you said here lol I was nervous to try the beta for sure. I had read the forums at work all day and got a little down thinking it was gonna suck. I got home tried it anyways and I honestly can't relate to about 95% of what people are complaining about. The only thing I've found I disagree with is if the grenades and melee are gonna take so long to charge they should do more damage when we do use them. Especially the warlock scatter grenade? That was is like throwing a collected ball of air at someone haha I'm sure that'll be fixed though, as for the rest it's great and it'll be great. Ignore the crying. If you can adapt to change and like the more realistic gun play and more moderated ability cooldowns and adjust your strategy accordingly it's gonna be a beautiful game for you

Still only the pve I am a bit leary on. The slow supers. Besides that I'm excited.

I honestly feel like the only really big issues are how weak guns feel in PvE (which numerous articles have quoted bungie stating they are going to fix this) and that supers charge slowly but I believe that there will be armor and stuff that fix this.

7 RepliesAre you playing the same beta? I'm not sure what reddit is saying or youtubers? If you [b]played and liked D1[/b] I don't see how you can be happy about D2. There really is very little that is new other than nerfing and dumbing down every aspect of the game. Don't get me wrong I don't hate everything, but someone at bongo made some bad decisions and they need to be correct or band-aided. I guess if only played 3v3 PVP you might be happy with the changes.

Im digging it as well. My only complaints are recharge rates in PVE and hit detection on the sentinal titan super. Pvp is great and with a few tweaks pve could improve a lot.
