I haven't played PVP.
But what you're reporting seems to be the common experience of everyone who has.
That supers are a non-factor or come right at the very end of matches....and people feel rushed to use them so that they don't go to waste.

Yes! There were some games where my super came in the last 30 seconds. I like how supers have less of an effect on the outcome of the game; at the same time, these unique character supers are what make Destiny truly special from every other shooter.
