You must be a Crucible player.

Nope, pve.

You are worthy of an explenation ....lol

Ah. They're trying to emphasise that loss and change will be major themes for D2's story. I mean, we're at the height of our power when we get utterly stomped on by a smarter foe. It means that everyone will be caught off-guard and it will hit them really freaking hard.
-
I mean, they lost me when they said that Destiny 1 had a nice rhythm like a heartbeat. Utter nonsense.
-
Kinda thought the same thing. D1 heartbeat was a fluttering, cant shock this thing back into rythem, type heartbeat.
-
Well, it did in Vanilla, back when certain missions were known to be the main story path and others were just side missions. They returned to that with the Quest system, providing a solid straight line with several branches splintering off. So, really, they are looking to expand on that and make it a goal to provide a more expansive version of that.

Yeah well, half assed storytelling like HoW, Taken King, and rise of iron don't give me any hope. It's like the bar is set so low that as long as they do SOMETHING people will accept it.
-
Well, when you think about it... TDB, HoW, TTK and RoI are just worldbuilding stories, similar to The Witcher's The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny. They're not entirely meant to tell a long, twisting narrative but to tell one-shot tales that expand upon the themes of the universe.

No, they were all cut content from the original vision that was scrapped a year before launch and chopped into dlc. There was a story, which I would love to have heard. Sorry if I don't have high expectations for the next round. But you know what they say... With low expectations there's nowhere to go but up.
