These are just a few Primaries that have been smashing in the Crucible lately. Auto rifles are in a weird place; while they work fine they have trouble competing with the Eyasluna, Palindrome and Wormwood (sidearm) weapons. If you still want to try your hand at it there is vast amounts of info you could google.

But Not Forgotten from the Arcons Forge on the Pleaguelands is decent. Most drop with hidden hand and snapshot.

Event Horizon from Crucible Quartermaster. If you get one with Perfectionist perk don't be surprised if it doesn't work: it has a bug.

Upon death you lose your special ammo, unless if you have a sidearm you will revive with one full clip. With that said, most people are using Ice Breaker to get around that change for ammo regeneration, and you can get a year 3 one from Zavala's Sunrise Elite Bounty (Complete Nightfall with Gold Star rating more or less, under 30 mins). You will see some No Land Beyond with a side arm combo but they recently nerfed No Land so not as prevalent but something to be aware of. #staywoke
