I'm not cancelling my preorder and this is why

1. It cost a whole $5. 2. I want more information before I form an opinion on the game. 3. I have friends who play. 4. Destiny, in spite of many flaws, is one of the best overall values in gaming I've experienced. 5. I'm not afraid of it changing in a sequel.

  • I'm not going to condemn you for your decision as I think we all need to make our own decisions for ourselves. I respect your reasoning for making the game. For me, I'm not afraid of change, but when you fundamentally change the game so much that not enough of what you loved remains in the game, its time to make a choice, and my choice is simply to not buy or play the game unless they reverse course. If Destiny is a 10 year project where you thought you would be driving around the streets in a suped up ferrari, and they suddenly swap it out for an econ-hybrid to please the other people you have to share the roads with, that ceases to be fun. It feels like this game was a huge bait-n-switch, and they've made decisions hoping people would continue to blindly plug along. That is exactly NOT what I plan on doing. I left the game because Y2/Y3 was too much of a departure from the game that I came to love (Y1). This just takes it one step further and one step too far IMO. If your continuing on with the game, then good luck to you and I hope you enjoy it. But for me, I can't bring myself to buy into and re-invest both my time and money into the game unless and until Bungie reverses course on their e-sports/PVP-oriented agenda.

    • Im not cancelling my preorder and this is why 1. It's my money, and I'll spend it how I want to. 2. Seriously though, as a fan of the final fantasy series, and ps2 titles like the Jak series, gameplay and other changes don't really affect me. The requirements of a good sequel is that it is enjoyable to play, continues the story in some capacity, and improves on the first. besides the enjoyability, destiny 2 passes. It's also different, neat. That shouldn't stop anyone from enjoying it. If you don't like it being different then keep playing destiny 1?

        • I remember when Halo 2 came out. At first I was angry and bitter that the game I grew to love and played daily with my friends was going to be replaced by something that not only ran differently, but could be played online and no longer required LAN parties to enjoy. After going to my buddies house like I usually did after school, my whole group of friends was playing H2 and having a blast. I resisted and said "this game is gay, halo 1 is the best". I'll never forget the feeling I had the first time I dual-wielded. It was amazing. I stopped comparing H2 to H1 and began enjoying it for what it was: a different game. So for that reason, I'm going to stay open-minded on this one and let D2 show me what is has to offer before passing judgement, because who knows, it could be another H2. p.s. It's worth mentioning that H2 was the first console game that I ever played online that led to forming an awesome play group and always having buddies to match with.

          • Don't get some people's point about getting "ripped off". I bought BL2 and all DLC on PS3, PC and PS4 and don't have nearly the combined hours I have in Destiny, but it was still more than worth the money. I'll probably buy D2 on PS4 and PC honestly.

Blind faith in what was once great is your call but if you really cared about your time and the future of the game then I would recommend waiting a few weeks before you buy. If enough people don't buy or better yet pre-order the game then Bungie may have incentive to give is the game that the player base actually wants. I don't think forcing 4v4 and simplification of class abilities was what players have been yearning for but some may disagree.

                    1) You can just wait a few more days and get it on friday for free. Put that $5 towards a pizza 2) Based on what I've seen, you're not going to be getting a whole lot of information from this demo. A strike, one story mission, one PvP new game mode, and access to the Farm on sunday for an hour or so. Good lucking forming an opinion with that content. 3) I have friends too, but none of us pre-ordered Destiny 2 because we all remembered the last time we bought into Bungie's lies and how disappointed we've been with this games shit narrative. 4) It's a good game yes, but those flaws are f*cking asinine and ruined the game for a lot of people. 5) That's retarded.

For me, it's not about money (mine, at least), and more about my complete lack of interest in almost everything I've seen so far, combined with a healthy disgust of Bungie. I'll only buy if the reviews are consistently outstanding for a few months.

                        • see I'm pretty much setting the bar as low as I possibly can, I'm expecting the exact same problems that the first game had, on top of that I think there going to do the same thing they did with D1 where they release the game and then the Year 2 stuff gets released and the Year 3 etc etc. I figure if I can set the bar low, and bungie pushes even a little over that bar then I'll be mildly happy with the game, I want Bungie to succeed I really do, and maybe the old game was held back by previous generation consoles, as well as some internal affairs, but now there is no excuse, sink or swim with Destiny 2. I'm going dark until the beta releases and then I'm going dark again, that means no trailers, no promotional stuff at all. so we'll see what happens.

I think the Bungie marketing division is shit. Of course the game will be better than 99 percent of the shit out there, but the message they are trying to give is pandering to the whiney bitches of you tube, twitch and these feedback forum user dipshits, so much so that it is probably hurting their cause. Stay frosty silent guardians! Try the game for yourselves when you get the chance. Bungie ain't making a religion...at least not yet... Remember, Destiny is just a game.

i just preordered, screw it! im always busy working so i wont get one of those free beta keys deej is handing out. i pre ordered the base version( d1 i went all in and g0t the dlc packs/season pass but i wont be doing that again) without dlcs, if i dont like it i wont be going any further. im more jaded than you and i have been very negative towards this game(from the beginning) but you guys are acting like entitled little brats. if they try to RE-sell me my year one emotes we will have a problem(im sure they will pull some shit like that). i have a sneaking suspecion that they will try to sell heavy ammo through eververse. from all of the gameplays i have seen from ign they never used heavy in pve. if they do all of the following i will be done with this bs forever. when i walked away from diablo 3 i never looked back. so if bungievision keeps up the grimey bullshit i will be done with them forever! god of war, anthem , battlefront and cod mw remastered is here/coming so i got plenty of other choices. #edit# technically i already bought the game because i paid 59 bucks for the digital preorder. i really dont feel like driving to gamestop i already have enough bullshit to deal with. hopefully i dont get screwed like last time. last destiny digital preorder customers could only play at 4 am. all of my friends were playing since 12 am because they went to gamestop. so....hopefully the bungietards dont screw me over this time as well.

                            • I pre ordered D2 because I have been playing Destiny since launch and have loved it and hated it. I want to experience where the lore/story is going that's the main reason. On the other hand I do believe the crucible will be garbage because it will be nothing but a lagging salty sweat fest! No dedicated servers is complete BS! Bungie is gangster they hint at what's to come then switch it completely. Every single time!

                            • why even consider cancelling it? It's story and cinematics look like we will get some great depth. "but 4v4 PvP is gunna ruin crucible"- from what I've seen in these new maps, it looks like 6v6 would make the game too crowded anyways and you'll be thankful that it's 4v4. "but they took the special weapons and put them into the power weapons slot"- that honestly makes sense since in PvP they can 1 shot people. In PvP I stick to my Primary weapon most of the time anyways
