"Getting the story right was important to us." Really? Is that why the entire first game is just fragments of story that go absolutely nowhere? Is that why you just completely abandoned the vanilla story like it never happened and answered none of the questions it raised? I could not make it beyond that line in the video, the BS is too distracting. If Destiny 2 is anything like 1, it will be: -Train wreck of a game that eventually becomes playable, but forgettable. -Complete abandonment of the main story upon release of subsequent DLC, content of such becoming completely obsolete upon the next being released. DLC to consist of palette swapped enemies and re-hashed old quests/strikes. -All story after the vanilla story totally ignores the vibrant, interesting setting full of history that appears to have been so lovingly crafted before being utterly abandoned in favor of a "Dragon Ball Z" style "There's a great evil coming, we must get stronger so we can defeat it" rinse, repeat scenario. -Endgame consisting of constantly "re-balanced" PVP and the same handful of raids/strikes ad nauseam. Re-balancing to consist of nerfs and exactly nothing the community asked for; all PVP balancing will also affect PVE gameplay for literally no reason other than sheer laziness. -Complete devolution of the game into a blatant cash-grab via special micro-transaction laden "events" that add no substance other than the micro-transactions, the content of which may or may not be permanent. -Fanboys foaming at the mouth and getting their faces sopping wet in Bungo's nether regions anytime someone comes along and says anything remotely true about the game. -That horrible, reluctant, depressing, inevitable check-up you do on the game and its sequel from time to time in the hope that someone at Bungie pulls their head out of the place they pull game ideas from, just long enough to make a triumphant return to the aforementioned vibrant world that could have been. This is always followed up by the sad realization that this franchise will never live up to its potential and is... destined... to always be a shallow boring experience. Can't wait for Destiny 2: RNG Boogaloo.

 • Storywise it will be closer to TTK than vanilla. Of course dlc would follow a separate story otherwise Bungie would get so much hate for locking the ending of a game behind a paywall. I do understand, though that D2 will not be perfect, but it will be a large improvement compared to D1 vanilla.

 • You make a fair point with that second sentence, but I would argue that even if the main story was not finished in the DLC they should at least finish it somewhere, at some point, and not just leave it open ended. My main problem with the DLCs aside from the fact that the content is completely useless mechanic wise once the next DLC comes out, is that the stories have all literally been "Evil come, we smash". They could delve into the world they made so much more, give us history, let us uncover things that change the world we play in, actually develop a narrative that gives meaning to the gameplay. We could be out hunting new tech and information from the Golden Age, and find out more about it in the process, and really flesh out the peek they give us into "what has been before". Instead, it's just "Evil come, we smash". As for Destiny 2 and it being anything other than a TTK sized expansion to Destiny 1 rather than an actual sequel, I sincerely doubt that it will be anything other than a completely forgettable, generic-storied Sci-fi shooter that will only be remembered as something more because the market severely lacks co-op multiplayer shooters.

 • I wish that would happen too, but with Bungie and Activision set on yearly releases of content, which is stupid, that is impossible.
