I Am Quite Proud of My K/D for Destiny 1

So I was looking at a few Crucible videos on Youtube and read some topics here on the forum, which got me thinking about how my skills in the Crucible have improved since Year 1. I fired up the destinytracker and typed in my name to see how things have gone for me and I am pretty pleased with what I saw. I now stand at a 1.22 K/D with my highest ELO being a 1334.19 in Supremacy Rumble. Now I know none of that is exactly spectacular. I do not have the skills to really no scope other players. I very rarely see a game where I manage to get a massive kill streak going on. But believe me, this is a lot better than in Year 1! I did not quite understand the fundamentals of the Crucible very well. I would go into a match with my Fatebringer and expect to destroy everyone! Yeah...that never happened unsurprisingly. With what I know now, I completely understand why I did not wreck anyone's face with it. It turns that just because something was good in PVE, does not mean it is good in PVP. I know right! That is so shocking! So yeah Year 1 was pretty rough on me when it came to the Crucible. In fact, I do not think I actually played Trials of Osiris in Year 1 because of that. But when Year 2 came around, I changed it up a little bit. I started actually practicing with new weapons and I made sure to know what the current meta was, so I could keep up with everyone else. And it eventually started working. I can now confidently go into a match knowing that I can at least walk away with a positive K/D (if I am not up against a red bar team), but really? Who can? So if this is going to be my final K/D for Destiny 1. I am exceptionally happy about that. It was a long road, but it was worth it!

  • Nice! I'm 38 (RIP reaction time) and Destiny was really my first ever fps pvp experience, other than BF4, which I didn't really get in to. Needless to say, I was awful at first, but had the most fun I'd ever had in a video game. I got rejected by other players so many times in pvp and pve because I wasn't good enough. I loved the game so much though, so I made a commitment to "git gud". There's only so much you can do in pve as a lonewolf, so pvp became my focus. My goals were to have at least a 2 kd in the end, rely mostly on my primary, be a good teammate and always play to win no matter what. Over time, I realized that kd really isn't all that important and that I'm not going to reach that goal. But damn it! I've given it my all and it's been one hell of a ride! Personally, I feel as though I've done well in meeting the rest of my goals. Overall, I'm pleased with my progress and honestly, I'm going to miss the experience when it soon comes to an end. So I plan to keep on riding till the wheels fall off!

  • I cant be counted on to snipe people either. I still ended up with a 1.4 KD somehow. Even though i main primary non meta weapons. AKA no palindrome or icebreaker or wormwood. Every combined arms my KD gets higher😁

  • For me it was being selective about what PvP I played. Figured out which game types I excelled at and have had a positive experience most of the time.
