Oh yeah, I can't wait for a pile of over hyped, untested games that have scripted cgi videos that don't reflect the final product.
Seriously E3 is a joke now. And mainstream gaming is a joke too. I still hope that there is a good game or two coming out that I'm not aware of but I'm not holding my breath.

Eh, it's something to look forward to at least.

If you couldn't tell from my post, I don't agree. If your excited though that's wonderful, but for me all I can think of is the money all these companies are spending on the show that would be better spent on game testers and better development schedules so that they can release more complete projects. One positive is that at least this year E3 is open to the public.

I was going to call out for being cynical. That was when I realized I feel almost exactly the same. My god.

I think if I was younger, I would be excited. But I turn 39 this year and was spoiled by the NES generation when I was a kid. This has been my least favorite gaming decade by far! I love gaming and will always be a gamer, but I just can't buy into these gaming companies spending millions of dollars on fluff and hype then releasing half finished product.

I'm only 19, but my tastes align best with the "old-school" RPG design of the 90s and early 2000s. I like hand-crafted worlds with heavy emphasis on story-telling and lore. Aside from The Witcher 3, there haven't been many modern titles that encapsulate that design.

One of the best things about those times was the fact there was no internet, you had to figure out those games yourself. I was a big fan of the Final Fantasy series then the Lunar series too. Also played a strange driving RPG on Turbo Grafix 16.

That, and everything in the world seemed to have a purpose. I tried to emulate that 90s feeling by playing Baldur's Gate completely blind. It was like nothing else I'd ever experienced with gaming before. I made countless mistakes and got party members killed, but that just added to the experience.
