The Guardian Thief Ch. 14: Re-asserting Leadership

Harkon stared out of his cell door and looked up and down the sleeping hallway. He took in a massive breath then, "I... like pig guts, and I cannot lie! You other prisoners can't deny!!" He yelled out on the top of his lungs. Soon, several Fallen woke up then growled at Harkon for disturbing them in their sleep. Harkon laughed his eerie, shrieking laugh. A figure stepped out of the shadows, and into the light of the Awoken's prison cell. The figure wore a steel grey and mustard yellow combat harness, and held a massive shotgun tightly in his grasp. "Someone needs the new Kell dead," he said plainly. His helmet had a filter that made his voice sound very deep and acoustic. Harkon spun around to face the new character behind him. "Are you not qualified to do it yourself, big boy?" He asked mockingly. "I am very qualified!" The figure replied in an angered tone. "But, my employer simply needed me to deliver a message. I have much more pressing matters to attend to..." "Oh, of cooourse you do, Col. Mustard," Harkon replied while he sporadically saluted the man. "Don't call me Colonel Mustard. Just, kill the Kell..." The figure said in a dark, menacing voice. "Can I have your shotgun?" Harkon asked. "No," The figure answered. "Sniper rifle?..." "No!" The mysterious man shouted, clenching his shotgun tighter. The figure pressed a button on his gauntlet, overriding the computer's system and causing the prison cell door to open. He stepped out into the hallway and looked around. "So, what's your 'more pressing matters'?" Harkon asked with a giuene, curious smile. "That is none of your concern," the man raised up his arm, about to close the cell. "Is it ghost hunting?" Harkon asked. The figure froze, then looked back at the hunter. "And how would you know that?..." "Eh, you just strike me as a ghost hunter..." Harkon answered. The man slowly walked back from Harkon, obviously suspicious of him. He shut the cell door, locking the Guardian in, then activated his cloaking system and dissappeared. "Good luck, Col. Mustard!!" Harkon yelled loudly. A vandal guard hit her staff againt Harkon's cell. The Awoken grinned so big, his eyes squinted, then he walked backwards to his seat. Later that night, Harkon found himself in a cell with an Eliksni. He hung down from the ceiling and looked around. He hooked his feet to some cables, then swung around, upside down. "Hey, Kelly..." he whispered to Aviksis. "Do you speak English? ¿Hablas español? Sprichst du Deutsch?..." Aviksis cocked his head in confusion. "I speak... English," he replied reluctantly. "Oh, good!" Harkon exclaimed. "I want to make a deal with you," "Deal?" The Fallen asked. "Yup. I get you out of this cell, we overthrow Avilon, and you become Kell again. What do ya think?" Harkon asked with a large smile. "You want to help me become Kell again? Why?..." Aviksis asked, skeptical of the plan this hunter obviously must have been making. "I made a deal with Avilon once, but he didn't keep his end of the bargain..." Harkon replied, sounding disappointed. "Now, I am willing to give you the same chance," "What do you want from me? Money, power?" Aviksis asked. "O.M.G... Why does everyone think I want money?!" Harkon asked himself. "No, silly! Avilon has his army, and you have yours. Obviously, it's gonna get pretty messy. Sooo, I want the bones of anyone who dies... Simple really: you become Kell, Avilon dies, and I finally get what I want!" The Guardian replied with a smile. Aviksis was horrified. Then, he finally noticed that Harkon's entire armor was covered in various creatures' bones. "You are insane..." "That's what everyone keeps tellin' me," Harkon said with another grin. Rixhell led Keirvik into the dungeons of the Den. "What do you know about the ketch?" The charismatic captain asked. "The engines are disabled--coolant, I believe. I heard it just before I left. Why?" Keirvik replied. "Good, good!" Rixhell smiled and faced the Archon. "I am the lead engineer of Terabiks-Fel. But more importantly, it means they are going nowhere for the time being..." Rixhell replied. A vandal guard ran up and pointed her staff in the captain's face. "You are not permitted to be here!" She shouted. Rixhell grabbed the staff, then punched the Eliksni and knocked her out. "Get this gate open!" He demanded as he pointed to the cell. Two of Rixhell's vandals pried open the gate, then ran in. The two Eliksni helped the poor, wounded Aviksis out into the hallway, then shut the cell door. "My Kell," Keirvik said as he knelt down before the Fallen. Harkon slammed his body against the shut door. "What about lil' ol' me?!" He cried as his lower lip trembled. The vandals raised up their shock rifles at the Awoken in the prison. Rixhell turned to Aviksis. "He... is with us," the large Eliksni said, reluctantly vouching for the Guardian. Rixhell waved his hand, then the vandals let Harkon out too. "We must move quickly to gather our forces before Avilon destroys this House!" Aviksis ordered. Rixhell bowed, handing over his authority to the Kell. Aviksis, Keirvik, Rixhell, the two vandals, and Harkon walked out of the dungeons. Translator:
Special thanks to Sarsion for making a post on translating Eliksni into human! It was a big help in this story, and will continue to be so!https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/122860874/0/0
