Love/Hate Relationship

Bungie, you did a great job designing this weapon. I'm not saying I love it. But I'm not saying I hate it, either. However, I do go back and forth between using those words to describe it. Why I Love It The model of the gun just looks like what it is in the lore. A Weapon of Sorrow. And according to some beliefs, the corrupted Rose. While it isn't as sleek and sexy as Hawkmoon, I will say it looks cool. Especially with the ornaments. The Lore of the gun itself is also quite interesting. There's so many questions people want answers from about Dredgen Yor and Thorn. It hungers, and we had to tame its darkness to keep us from going crazy. Yet, some of still did, and all we were was shot by it. This leads right into this last one: How the community reacted to it. I always hear people talk about the Thorn. And how widespread its use was. Seriously though, it took guts to be that Shin Malphur. And lots of times it wound up like Jaren Ward. Why I Hate it Don't get me started on its burn. I know most times you can survive it nowadays, but when you don't and that person fires that third shot, or however many shots you need, it just pushes your buttons. The Lore also has a play in this. It's perma-killed many guardians, some of I wanted to meet. For example, Thalor. I most definitely would want to meet him and have him carry me through Trials. It's also killed innocent people, too. Back when I had it when I played on Ps4, I felt so dirty when I used it. It was like it was eating into my soul, and was corrupting me slowly. Which was why I left it in the vault a lot. Anyway, I'd love to hear your thoughts on Thorn.
I gave up a lot if crap just to play with my older brother on Xbox One. Including a Zen Meteor. Spending time with my brother is worth 1,00,000 times more than my Zen Meteor.
• There are only a few weapons that I will never dismantle, nor even consider dismantling. The Dark-Drinker, Queenbreakers Bow (if I get it), Lord of Wolves (if I get it...), and my beloved Thorn. Sure, it's not the strongest, and sure I get complacent because I think the burn will kill of my target but it leaves a small sliver left, but I love it for what it is. A weapon forged in darkness, birthed by a man who fell into the darkness when he learned of its power. A weapon that people who have read on Destiny's lore know about, and what it signifies. That puts personal value into it after you go through the quest to get your own. I even went into the Crucible, which I hate PvP with a passion, but I did it to get the Thorn. I love the Thorn, regardless of its imperfections. I just hope I get reunited with it in Destiny 2, or we get the option to save at least one of our weapons. I'd chose the Thorn over my Dark Drinker any day.
