Positive Community: What Destiny is Missing

I have seen it, the douche teamates you have deal with you grief you and make your life harder when you are trying to do something for the first time. Some won't even look at you if you haven't done an activity at least twenty times before. Why don't we start pushing for more people to help each other out? Have a matchmaking system that has experienced players team up with a new player to help teach the mechanics of the game. When partying up, have all players recieve an extra reward if someone hasn't completed the activity before. Push for us to help each other instead of griefing.

A Sherpa function coupled with some sort of in game lobby / LFG thingie could actually work. Then those who feel they have the time / energy to do it can do it. The reason many experienced raiders are unwilling to raid with newcomers aren't because of arrogance though - it's because we already spent many hours on each hard encounter in all of the raids learning them, perfecting them and finally beating them. While that was fun back then, it's not fun to watch someone else go through that while you spend more time jumping off the edge to wipe rather than actually fighting the boss. I'm never a douche to new players (and I always try to give them pointers if they make mistakes if I end up in a team with them), but I always try to find raid teams that knows the raids well enough to beat the encounters in 1st or 2nd try. I spent 6 hours on hard mode Oryx the first time I fought him, I'm not going to do that again.

  • This community is toxic as hell. There are some good people but it's a microcosm. Streamers say the community is great but that's their pruned and preened audience. Messaged a guy last week asking if he could stop using outbreak prime so I could hit enough thrall for a bounty once. He spent the next minute ghorning ever mob. The raid exclusion in year one was atrocious and has never really gotten better. But in the end this is mostly bungies fault. They have lied from day one and had shit communication. They made their community nearly constantly furious and that has to get let out somehow

    • I agree and also how about an extra reward for finishing a PVP match from start to finish and not leaving your team right at the end when you're about to win? Or for not leaving in the very beginning just because a girl is getting more kills than you??
