The books of sorrow tell us the Hive Homeworld is Fundament, a gas giant

Well, what @Renovare said is imprecise. Anyways, lore-rant time. Fundament was a gas giant where a lot of planets and moons and stuff had crashed into. Aurash (who became Oryx) thought, because of his father, that his species was living on shattered bits of a moon or planet on which their species had originated. Anyways, the hive only became hive after merging with their Worms, just saying.

Glad I could help. If you want to read about this from the source, the books of sorrow are vary enlightening. There are plenty of places which have all grimoire recorded, if you want to read about it.
