Red-blooded conservatives, I have a game for you to play.

Conservatives, Alt-righters, Constitutionalists, Traditionalists, Nationalists, rights-based and minarchist libertarians, I have a game for you to play. Actually, any brand of statist can play, but it's more fun to watch supporters of limited government participate because they're typically more invested in preserving some semblance of liberty. I've found that big government types are more invested in false virtues like equality, regardless of how much they have to extort, cage, maim, and kill to achieve these virtues. Here's your game. (http://zerogov.com/?p=4228)
Show me one government or nation state which became smaller and smaller over time and increasingly less injurious to the freedom and liberty of individuals. Again, I hear the bleating of the usual suspects on the alleged Right who claim that new-found respect for the Constitution will set everything right and we will all skip down the yellow brick road of the small government paradise known as America. You are either a coercionist or an individualist, there is no middle ground.
• No nation can function purely on one side of politics, this is why we need members of both sides being elected as presidents or leaders in other countries and our own. Both have their advantages and drawbacks, and when one side is taken to an extreme, it doesn't work out well.

    •
Show me one government or nation state which became smaller and smaller over time and increasingly less injurious to the freedom and liberty of individuals.
The implications of this are huge. As a macro level trend, we see nation-states which change based on an established political process (such as republics, democracies, and meritocracies) move towards increased concentration of power, authoritarianism, and bureaucratic inefficiency. This means, even simply to maintain an even quasi-limited government, revolutionary change is a necessity. Now whether revolutionary change is more beneficial than a previous state is an unpredictable matter, but the previous condition was going to continually get worse, revolutionary changes at the absolute very least has the chance to set back the approach of totalitarianism.

    • the founding fathers made it very clear: the Constitution works, the philosophy works, people dont. enemies of liberty r both foreign and domestic. pursuing the american system of government is a perpetual ideal of humanity, at least in an enlightened West. this is a never ending fight, not a math problem to b simplified & solved. Liberty is taken, not given -someone smart

    • That's not a very fun game... I'll go ahead and fix the title to more accurately represent this.
Red-blooded conservatives, I have a three-page report on the Constitution and small government that I need you to complete by Tuesday. I'll need your rough draft, peer review, and final draft on my desk by 9:15. This is worth half your grade so there is no option for failure.
