I will try to keep this short. Mass Effect (or any BioWare franchise, really) is a series founded on good storytelling and RPG gameplay roots. Personal decisions are important to your experience. Quality gunplay is the method of delivery for the action. For Andromeda, this remains true and even goes further than previous titles. Exploration and platforming are now part of the mix. Andromeda has it's flaws (visual bugs, which seem to be far more scarce than people were initially letting on, haven't been an issue for me on XB1), but if you refuse to play this game because of them, you are doing yourself a disservice. I have a coworker who had never played a Mass Effect game before. I convinced him to buy Andromeda, and he is absolutely loving it. He claims that it is kinda like a combination of Gears of War combat, Elder Scrolls exploration, and Halo story all wrapped into one package. I can't find any reason to disagree.

  • I'm not particularly experienced in RPGs like ME. But I did play the shit out of Elder Scrolls IV, and really enjoyed that game. Based on that, could I expect a similar experience out of Andromeda?

  • There isn't a huge difference between the two actually. Powers in Mass Effect are very similar to spells in Elder Scrolls, they just have a cooldown rathen than drawing from a Magicka reserve. The sense of exploration between Oblivion and Andromeda is actually incredibly similar. Andromeda's RPG elements largely just apply to skills and gear. Just keep upgrading skills that you are going to use and be sure to equip the higher quality gear you find and you will be fine. It's really simplistic once you understand what is going on.

The RPG part: abilities, skill trees, subclasses Nothing too difficult to understand, you have powers that are more efficient than others against an enemy, you can make combos with certain powers, but nothing too much complex, just read what the power does, watch the mini video that shows what the power does, if you didn't liked it you can reset the skill points
