I'll never understand Christianity. If Jesus and his apostles were Jews and God thinks Jews as the "chosen people" then why aren't all Christains Jews? Wouldn't it make more sense to have to same mindset and religion as God in the flesh? Also, bwahahahahahaha!!! "Tolerance." Yeah, Christains are very tolerant. *rolls eyes* Why did the pilgrims come to America again? Why did the protestants fight with the cathics hundreds of years ago? Why do religious nuts hate science, Athiests, Muslims, and gays? On a more personal note, why did my Catholic great grandfather say I would go to hell because I was baptised in a Lutheran Church and disowned my mother? Please. "Tolerance." Looking back on any part of human history since the creation of Christianity proves otherwise.

Pilgrims cane to America to escape religious persecution. Protestants fought the Catholics because they were corrupt bastards. We don't hate the gays, athiests, Muslims & scientists. Thats all propoganda by literally everyone everywhere. And heres something you should ask yourself: WHY DONT YOU ASK THE CHURCH OR YOUR MOM?!

  • Protestant Christian ideals directly influenced liberalism. Without Protestantism claiming all men are equal before God, we wouldn't have reached all men are equal.

Wouldn't it make more sense to have to same mindset and religion as God in the flesh?
The race of the Jews and Judaism are completely different things. I am partly Jewish on my mothers side, yet I am a Christian.
Also, bwahahahahahaha!!! "Tolerance." Yeah, Christains are very tolerant. *rolls eyes*
You may be one of the most childish and idiotic people to reply to one of these threads thus far.
Why did the pilgrims come to America again?
To seek a place were they could practice their religion freely.
Why did the protestants fight with the cathics hundreds of years ago?

cathics
Great spelling man. They fought the Catholics mainly because the Catholic Church had become corrupt and involved in political affairs. This demonstrates why we need a separation of church and state.
Why do religious nuts hate science,
I don't see any flat earther Christians. Saying Christians hate science is one of the most idiotic things one can say. Of corse they disagree with those sad excuses for theories that atheists shove down their throats.
Athiests,
Most of my friends are atheist. You can have differing views on religion and still be friends, or at least civil. But that never occurred to you, did it?
Muslims,
I have two Muslim friends as well. Like I said before, you can disagree and still be friends.
and gays?
I have a homosexual friend as well. Just because I don't agree with what he does with his life doesn't mean we can't be friends. See a pattern?
On a more personal note, why did my Catholic great grandfather say I would go to hell because I was baptised in a Lutheran Church and disowned my mother?
I don't know. If you are going to hell, it sure isn't for that.
Please. "Tolerance." Looking back on any part of human history since the creation of Christianity proves otherwise.
The scripture says otherwise. Now try and find an actual example.
Mine had just as much truth as yours did
fourth- name one other religion more tolerant than Christianity
Pro tip: you cant
heck, atheists are less tolerant than Christians.

  • I can see where you're coming from with this and although there is a bit of sense to what you're saying; there is one thing that you're not making a connection with...Catholics are not Christian. Period. Just because they say that they accept that Jesus was the messiah, doesn't mean they follow the teachings. And that goes for all of the Catholic spin offs. Period. Catholicism is a religion. Christianity is a faith. Completely two different things.

  • Christianity is a religion, also the Catholic church is one of the biggest branches of Christianity.

  • Nope. Christianity is a faith that Christ is the savior and that we as Christians are to live by His word as dictated in the bible. Catholicism is a religion, built by man, to serve man's needs. It is based on the faith of Christianity but was warped to serve the needs of the first pagan people to be drawn to its tenants and held together by pagan tradition to keep the power infrastructure intact. It is the largest "Christian" branch of the umbrella...but by its very inception, is not Christian at all.

  • Christianity is a religion, no matter what spin on it, it was, is and always will be a religion. All you have to do in the modern world is Google it and there you find all the info you need telling you it's a religion. I'm not faith isn't involved because it is, in all religions infact. Alot of it revolves around faith but at the end of the day it is still a religion.

Don't generalize.. surely there are atheists much less tolerant than christians, but all atheists don't necessarily follow a liberal agenda that is coaxed into hating Christianity and loving Islam. I find Christianity to be MUCH more moral than most religions.

  • I don't like to generalize, but most atheists I've talked to were too busy saying religion is stupid to even hear a word I said.

They are atheists simply because it's "cool". I'm an atheist because I think there are too many fallacies and fundamental flaws in theology. But I do not discount the fact that religion, especially Christianity is a very important part of society and human culture. I am always open for debate and I never use petty insults or disregard anyone for disagreeing with me. As an atheist and a Planar Theorist, I am faced with debate constantly, but I have never done anything to belittle my opponents.
